Seeing how the city of Syracuse is just as much greek as athens or sparta will KH players be able to train unique Syracusian units, say heavy cav or something of the sort. Im sure some historians will have more info on Syracusian armiesthen I do. However, from what i know Syracuse was a very powerful force only 50 years before, and again when Pyrros took the crown.

Syracuse isn't a playable faction, and given the unit limit this looks unlikely (I'm not a team member though so this is just speculation).

I think we had a low-rated syracusan/southernitalian 'old-school' hoplite on the books. But no one at all is working on greek models/skins currently I think (unless we've picked someone up in the last couple of days for it).

Im not talking about Syracuse being a unique faction, just if KH controls Syracuse will they be able to train unique units, same way as athens, corinth, and (someday) sparta does

Edit: ok thanx Teleklos

People other than the KH will get it too.

oh, odd. why would greeks be trainable units for non-hellenes aka KH, Macedon, Seleucids and Ptolomy

I can see mercenaries, but not normal troops

If you choose a type4, or maybe even a type3 for some factions, govt for those areas, and if the unit was a low-quality one, then yeah, you could recruit them yourself. But KH might get them in type1 or 2 ones also I suppose.

Well, factions like Eperios and KH will get them in most gov't types. Factions with less of a relationship would probably get them less often, factions like the Sweboz need type 4's with Makedon maybe only needing a type 3. I'd have to do some more thinking and research to actually figure it out, but we'll cross that bridge when there's a unit to make it worth while (and possible).

Makedon=Hellenes
Seleucid/Ptolemies=Makedon
Seleucid/Ptolemies=Hellenes

Simple...

Hellenes

oh, yeah i agree completly i typed that wrong, what i ment to say was KH, Macedon, Seleucids, Epiros and Ptolomy are greeks, therefore they should be able to recruit southern classical greek stylied units. Such as Athenians, Corinthians, Spartans, etc. But other then maybe Italians and Carthagians I dont see the greeks fighting for anyone outside the hellenic world. (other then as mercenaries of corse)

They fought as more traditional troops as well. Just look at the Ionians in the Persian army.
