I've done some searches on this and other topics, but have found nothing relevant. Its a pretty simple hidden resources question, as I haven't done extensive work with this before.

My question is: can a single hidden resource be tagged against multiple, differing units in EDB? In other words, can a single hidden resource represent multiple units? For example, say you want to pool several Egyptian units under a common hidden resource called Nile - is this possible?

I've seen LoneGunman's region resource limit (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=635822), and basically need to cut down the number of extra resources present in descr_regions (DR). I can see in my files many hidden resources that overlap each other, and was wondering if they can be merged. Any support will be appreciated :medievalcheers:

Yes.

I've used the same hidden resource to recruit dozens of different units.

You just need to make sure in the EDB file, the hidden resource is referenced to each unit it applies to.

Thanks, it would be a bit long-winded if you had to tag each unit with a seperate hidden resource. Chances are you'd also spill over the apparent 9 resource limit per region as well, which happened to me originally ~D

to help with more resources you can actually just have only hidden resources in descr_regions because it is the symbols on the campaign map (located in descr_strat) that affect trade etc.... it was discovered in a previous thread

Though trade resources must remain in the list in the DR file if they are to be used as EDB conditionals (such as gold and silver for mines). And of course you can use resources instead of hidden resources if the need/opportunity arises.
