Hi, Amateur question about RTW installed x2

So i have RTR installed in the standard directory


and im 'sick' of uninstalling patching etc to change how i want to play the game!

however i want to try this mod, so how would i go about doing this???


would moving my RTR folders to a newer directory then installing RTW vannilla to prog files/..... then patch it

patching is what i worry about though as you cant choose directory it patches too...

also will it give me the message that its already installed???



sorry seems as though i want spoon feeding and could do some of this myself and test, however im looking for someone who has done similar and can give me best way to do it

Unfortunately with Windows\installers\the direction of the wind\the time of day\etc. etc. etc. I think your only option is to uninstall the lot do a clean install, patch it then copy it and install your favourite mods

Step by step instructions:

1. Rename curent rtw folder to something else. RTR would be good name i supose.
2. Uninstal RTW (it will only romove regestry info, it wont be able to find your RTR so it wont delete it).
3. Install RTW.
3A. If you have lots of free disk space rename RTW directory to something like Vanila RTW so you will never have to install it again. Then make copy of this directory. Rename it EB.
4. Patch it. This can be a problem. Uninstaler doesnt remove info about pathces. The best way is to find on the net patch in zip format.
5. Instal EB to EB folder.
You are done. Now you can play RTR, EB or eaven Vanila if you like.

Once you have installed EB and played for a few turns, be sure to delete the Vanilla RTW and RTR because you won't need them anymore and they will just take up disk space.

If he has space, it's always good to leave a vanilla 1.2 rtw copy though. That's my most used copy - as I paste it over and over when i install new builds of EB.

Yeah, but I figure it will be another 2 years before we see a new build of EB. Judging on past experience I mean. :laugh4:
