the Hatti

The Hitties are a people shrouded in mystery. Bursting into Asia Minor as invaders they soon forged a grand empire upon the plains of Anatolia and exctended their grasp towards both Syria and Mesopotamia and rival their neghbours in strenght and power.

While their enemies calls them barbarians the Hitties are far from savages. They have well orginized cities, strict laws where the otherwise common capital punishment is rare and grand temple to their gods. But while stone buildings and laws gives civilization the Hitties maintains the fierce warrior traditions of their past. Riding to war in superb two-wheeled chariots and with weapons forged in iron the Hitties are a fearsome enemy to face.

The Hitties are surrounded by enemies on all sides. In the south the power of the Canaaite cities and rising power of Egypt. To the east are the Hurrians, Mitanni and the rich lands of Mesopotamia while other peoples threatens the Hitties from the west, among them the mighty city of Troy. But as the warlike people they are the Hitties might well ride out through the storm. Threats can be seen as oppertunities. Lead by their king and a warlike warrior-nobility the Hitties only awaits a great king to lead them, to stretch out his hand and claim world domination.

props go to pinarus for the new horse models wich are beutiful and to the rtr team for letting us use thier models! also thanks goes to gurkhal for the faction description, PyrrhusofEpirus, Hannibal89, and grimsta for research!and to image shack for free hosting!

here are some of the types of troops the hittite king will have at his command
mini tuzzi
https://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1400/minituzzicopy0ql.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
Mini Tuzzi or servant army are hittite locals pressed into sevice by the king. although given little training, they do have an advantage over other local levys in the fact that they are armed with iron spear heads then bronze heads. this makes them of use fighting lesser peoples.
slingers
https://img248.imageshack.us/img248/3/slingers1ua.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
rugged hillmen, mostly sheperds and farmers with nonthing else but a sling. not to say that they cant kill a man, considering this time frame most infantry didnt have helments.
Mini Tuwarsa Tizzi
https://img248.imageshack.us/img248/6892/miniturazatuzzi4ox.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
Mini Tuwarsa Tizzi are hatti skirmishers. they are decent skirmishers but if caught off gaurd by chariots they are pretty much good as gone. armend with a simple clucth of javlens, and a spear, but due to their harsh life, they are perfect to use as skirmishers
isha hula
https://img248.imageshack.us/img248/9150/ishahula4ik.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
Isha Hula are the royal elite of the hittite kings. Armed only with the finest scale armor and iron spear heads, these are the greatest infantry of the game. Thier main duty is to protect the king during outings and military campaigns.
chariots
https://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1308/chariots5mq.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
The Hittites were a warrior people, and they are famous for their excellent chariots. The army depended a lot on the chariot, and it was the Hittites "main" weapon in any war. The chariot had two or three soldiers. One that could control the horses, and one or two that could fight with a bow/spear. The horses used to pull the chariots was trained to charge into any battle, and stay calm. The chariot didn't weight much, as one man could lift it. Soldiers on the chariots often used armour made from iron.

The Hittites was the first to use iron in weapons (successfully), and that gave them an advantage over other people for a few centuries, until the secret spread to the Assyrians and other people that had contact with the Hittites.

Hello sir!

Interesting mod.
I have done Biblical studies for over 19 years and have spent time, effort and moola towards understanding that time period.

If you need input, don't hesitate to ask, cool? :idea2:

Later, man

BTW, Good choice of units, where's the Ionian & Doric Greeks though?
