In the preferences file I've changed from minimal_ui=true, to minimal_ui=false six or seven times but I always have minimal ui in battle! Does anyone know how it can be fixed without reinstalling?! :inquisitive:

This may be a stupid question, but hell you never know... Did you save the text file after changing the preference? ~:)

It has to be set to minimal_ui=TRUE for it to work.
Edit: note to self, read question before posting. The only thing I can see wrong with your setting is that there's a space in there that shouldn't be there. Try making sure it reads minimal_ui=FALSE rather than minimal_ui= FALSE, see if that makes a difference.

If somebody would be kind enough to post up their preference text, that might help. I would, but I don't know how

It's possible there's a duplicate preferences file that you're changing - does changing any of the other settings have an impact?

If they don't then the preferences.txt might be set to read-only.
Right-click on the file and select Properties. Then make sure Read-Only is not enabled.

I do have the original RTW files in another folder and I've changed it there as well but I still get minimal ui, and yes my other changes do take effect and no the Read-Only box is not ticked :sad2:
What on earth is causing it?!? It drives me crazy! :furious3: :wall:
