I picked up the Prima Guide for BI a couple days ago--just a warning, and I imagine this may have been said by someone else before--but it's really, really bad.

1) As with the Rome guide, there's no information on morale or speed for individual unit stats.

2) Tactics and strategy is laughable. E.g. each playable faction has a synopsis, from which the in-game description makes up about 50% of the description. One of the short paragraphs written on the Alemanni goes as such, "If you bribe the Frankish diplomat and he accepts your gift, he becomes your diplomat." Thanks.

3) Some of the information is plain wrong (caveat, this may be a function of patches, but my suspicious is that the editor was just lazy).

4) The layout and format is amateurish and unlear.

I am hopeful that the next iteration of the Total War franchise is paired with a more useful strategy guide.

Yep, I learned my lesson with the RTW guide. Besides, nothing beats the ORG for great articles, research, and info on all RTW aspects...

This is sad, the MTW guide was pretty cool...

The MTW guide was definitely rad. Perhaps I was just greener, and had more to learn, but the BI guide just screams "zero effort", "zero results" to me.

Yeah I flicked through the RTW guide ages ago and learned nothing I didnt already know, the descriptions are always almost identical to what you see in-game. I havent seen the BI one but I trust its as you describe.

It is just totally lazy, absolutely no effort whatsoever are put into these guides, I remember Prima guides used to be great but now they are shocking.

Yeah, they should hire frogbeastegg to write their TW guides. That would be worth buying.
