Some of the jobs

Roadkill Collector: Must be able to work long hours braving oncoming traffic while picking up creatures of various size and breed and in various states of decay. Benefits include working outdoors. Strong stomach a plus.

Catfish Noodler: In search of people who can catch potentially 100-pound catfish with their hands only. Must not mind sticking limbs in holes in search of game and getting bitten as a result.

Only on new buildings I believe. That was one tuff and dirty job. Worst of all outr boss was an Irishman who had moved to the US a few years earlier and had grown up as a coal miner over there. He worked like a madman and expected eveyone else to keep up.

We may be laid back almost to the point of laziness back home , but as soon as we cross the water we seem to go mad .
BTW its banned on re-roofing old buildings as well , too many people were burning buildings:oops:(plus the toxic fumes are not vey pleasant) , but some people have more faith in the hot stuff so are willing to pay the fine when doing their own homes .

Basically it involved huge vats of rotting chicken carcasses, as well as lots and lots of maggots. it couild be smelled for about five miles down wind

Working in a rendering plant must be the worst , especially the steam guns or the offal pit .
The stench of rotting carcasses gets so ingrained in the skin that it doesn't wash out , them people can clear a building in less than a minute .
