This is getting really annoying. I'm playing as the WRE, with all of my army on a few transport ships to go attack the ERE, when all of a sudden two monstrous pirate fleets come up and destroy the transport (and ultimately my only amry) I reload every time but I keep losing, and I find it a little unrealistic how there's two huge pirate fleets roaming the Mediterranean killing anything that stands in their way.
Can someone just tell me (if there is one) how to get rid of this annoying little navy using the console-command thingy? Thanks.
Its a pain yet, but actually its historical. It was SO bad that the Roman Empire was facing ruin if they didnt do something about the pirates. So they sent Pompey, which later after teh Pirates defeat got the title, Pompey the Great. It too several years to destoy the pirates, something that cant be duplicated in RTW.
On a plus note, just Build a larger fleet that can fight the pirates its teh safest way to move your army for invasions. Going on the sea in ancient times was a tricky dangerous affair.

Maybe one of the historians can go into more detail on this.

Pompey would have been before the Empire, though. But yes, it is quite historical to have tons of pirates in the Mediterranean, and quite realistic at that. Hell, even Caesar ran into some Pirate problems before he became dictator, being held captive by said pirates, only to pay the ransom (and mocking them all the while) and come back later to destroy them. You have to plan your sailing routes carefully if you have a small fleet; try port-hopping, that way the pirates can't attack you.
Alternatively, you could just use the auto_win defender cheat. Since it's a pirate fleet, it should be in "fight to the death" mode, where the entire enemy fleet will be destroyed if you win. It is quite entertaining to see a single bireme take on a whole enemy fleet and destroy them all...
