Rick Mercer's blog (http://rickmercer.blogspot.com/)

This'll require some scrolling, but feel free to read the other articles too. The one to which I'd like your attention pointed should be the third from the top, dated December 13th.

Anyway, it seemed like sense to me, so I signed it.

...And besides if it wasn’t for beer most of these kids wouldn’t have been born anyway.

LoL. Most of my Canadian ancestors and relatives managed to have 6+ kids AND beer. What's the country coming to, when ya hafta choose? :)

Beer is the devil's urine.

Spirits are better.

That's Canadian humor, sorta, right?

:inquisitive:

We all know that in this country it would be impossible to find a parent who would spend 25 bucks a week on beer. For starters a case of beer costs more than 25 bucks. A case of domestic is about 35 bucks and the trendier imports cost even more. I happen to know this because I drink beer. I don’t have kids so I have no idea what child care costs. I admit I’m surprised that 25 bucks a week will pay for daycare but what do I know.

:laugh4:

Yeah, we like the old 'sarcasm and logistics' combo. Rick Mercer is the former writer and actor for This Hour Has 22 Minutes. He hosted the nationally famous Talking to Americans segment, which eventually spun off to get its own 1-hour special.

Kukri, I think that's his point. The whole Kids not Beer thing is preposterous. Picking on beer...geez.
