Hi there. Just found this site a day ago and have been browsing the forums and noticed how friendly and helpful everyone is. My question is there any Mods just for MTW. Reason being I would like to have some of the added races such as scots and irish playable to my selection. Yet, I haven't purchased VI yet(I know I'm a slacker it's been out for ages) and those are they only ones that I've seen mods for that I'm aware of. I would appreciate anyones help on this :help:
Hm I think all mods went to VI.

Welcome legacy!
First, you should definitely buy VI, the Scotts and Irish you were mentioning are part of the expansion campaign. As for mods, here are two excellent ones. There are others of course.
Napoleonic: Total War - http://lordz.thelordz.co.uk/index.php?id=37,0,0,1,0,0 - Excellent mod by the Lordz based on Napoleonic times. Control any of the nations of Europe or the Ottomans as you fight for supremacy over the continent! Muskets, Cannon, that sort of stuff.
Hellenic: Total War - http://www.hellenictotalwar.com/pages/htw2pag.html - By The Gerousia. Set in ancient times in Europe. Greeks, Macedonians, Persians, etc.
These were made for the 2.01 version of the VI expansion, so you should also download the patch. It shouldn't be hard to find. Try looking at the Medieval Total War forums, this is where you should go for all the latest - https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=40
Greetings, Legacy! ~
Unfortunately, pretty much every major mod for Medieval requires Viking Invasion as well. You would be doing yourself a huge favor by picking it up, as it adds a lot of content to the game (besides allowing you access to all of the larger mods).
There is one exception, however. I believe Wes' MedMod (which can be found here (http://wes.apolyton.net/)) still has a version which is compatible with vanilla Medieval (although you still need the 1.1 patch installed). While I have yet to play MedMod myself, I know a lot of players have highly recommended it in the past. Along with BKB and XL, it's considered to be one of the 3 main mods that keeps the game in the medieval setting (as opposed to Hellenic TW and Napoleonic TW, which are "total conversion" mods).
In any case, I believe that's the only major mod you can download without having VI. I've heard it's a lot of fun, though (if somewhat tough), so you might do well to check it out. Good luck! ~
My mistake there, I completely agree with Martok. :laugh4:
Those two are total conversions and you might want to try the ones that improve upon the original setting of the game itself first (I never used them though :stupido3:).
Good luck! ~D

I am afraid that MedMod v1.85 is mainly a balance patch; the acclaimed version of MedMod is version 3.14 or so and requires VI. Yet another reason to get the expansion, if the many improvements and the new campaign aren't enough to convince you ~:) .
