I really like the Gallic factions and love watching the whole Iberian army run away from 3 units of naked men, but I am growing weary of replacing these horsemen. They are alright when it comes to throwing spears, chasing routers and flanking units just about to break, but they die faster in ptiched battle than any unit that I can recruit, even clydabre (sp). I realize they are not supposed the be used for pitched fighting, but sometimes they get trapped. Also, if any unit even sneezes in their direction, much less actually throws a spear, half of them die instantly.

So, I would like to request that they either be given a little better defence stats (They are supposed to be so well trained) or the Gauls be given another Cavalry unit that don't need quite so much micromanaging. (Especially if General units are reduced in size as I have read in other threads.)

There is another Gallic cav unit. Brihentin are gallic heavy cav, if you want to put a cav unit into a slugging match that is what you should use.

What do you need to recruit them? I have been unable to so far, but I don't build MICs in most of the places I conquer.

you'll need a high mic level I guess. And I think a 1 or 2 goverment? not sure about the last tough. But I'm sure they have a high Mic. But be carefull with using a lot of them cause they're really expensive.
