Hullo fellow Org-ers...

I read the freeware thread in the frontroom and it mentioned Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Enemy Territory. It's the free, stand alone expansion MP game.

I've had it installed for ages, but it didn't return on my new pc. Now however I've installed it once more and am ready to do some more damage...

So who's with me ?

Is the original game free?

No, but ET is STAND ALONE, means you dont need the original.

I dont like it though, not my kind of style

I'm there.

I was Eightball_DH or something like that when I used to play.

Should we put "Org" in the front of our call-signs?

Org||Eightball

Org-Eightball

Eightball.Org

EDIT: Craterus - W:ET is completely free.

Hmm. Can you use the original if you've got a mod installed?

Speaking of mods, there's an awesome one for W:ET called True Combat, a modern warfare mod that is the most realistic tactical shooter I've ever played.

You can use W:ET if you have TC:E.

:2thumbsup:

It's another good mod, kind of like Counter Strike, I think, except free. And maybe more tactical. I dunno. Never played CS. :sweatdrop:

The most annoying think about TC:E is they never update anything, even their website. :furious3:

I'll try to play at some point, probably as "Org_mongoose".

What's every one playing? A Mod or the standard version? Mods have better gameplay most of the time, but it's always such a hassle...

What servers does everyone use?

Mithrandir

Just installed it, what patches/mods/exp packs are most popular?

Or is everyone like me a noob again :)

Maybe we should just pick one server. Otherwirse it's going to be too hard to find each other.

I'll try to download it tomorrow. Once I'm done, please look for the n00b (I've never been good at video games) Org_AIII. What will be the server, and what patches/modifications/etc. would we be using?

The only mod im playing with this game is the TCE mod. Terrorists vs Special ops is the layout and its pretty much one shot, one kill.

I much prefer realism in FPS's rather than people taking 3000 shots then jumping in mid air to take me out with a knife...i do hate the vanilla version of RTCW! :furious3:

The best server for TCE is "TCE-FORCE.COM", it holds 50 players, always has a nice ping, and the players in there are generally all "newb" friendly! Im now known as the ORG | 3 Headed Monkey :2thumbsup:

If you like realism, try Red Orchestra Mod for UT2004 you will love it, plus the stand alone version comes out soon yay!!! ~D

Bah! Not free!

I'm going to be Org_Eightball.

You can use a program called Qtracker to find people (as long as you know their psuedonym). Look for it in the free software thread in the frontroom or just google it.

Using Qtracker you can find servers that people are on.

Org_Mithrandir be my name.

I'm using the 2.06 (?) (latest) patch and just download most things from hosting servers. ( I hate it when I have to download 4 8MB files though)

Yeah, DLing can be a pain.

I hope you mean 2.60 patch. :inquisitive:

Probably :).

My favorite maps are the snowy ones...

I really hate the dark ones.

From that ATPG's post:

Windows Client (http://www.splashdamage.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=1)
Linux Client (http://www.splashdamage.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=11)
Mac Client (http://www.splashdamage.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=13)

Now we just need links to all the patches and mods that are needed.:sweatdrop:

If any of you like the team fortress mods, there's a port of Q3F for ET called ETF. The gaming community I help run hosts a server for it.
