I done quite some modding with the vanilla. Some problems have occured but one thing seem to linger. The problem arise when I try to add hidden_resource in the export.descr building folder.

Simply put it does not work and I do add the hidden resource to the building, at the top of the page and to the regions.txt. What I tried to do was to limit the recruitment of First cohort to certain cities.

Moreover when I remove the rmw.file to test my changes the game will not start. If I put back the rmw.file the game will start. This has led me to the conclusion that you should always exit and start the game over when testing the changes.

Has anyone encountered the same problems?

I've made a tutorial on hidden resources. It's on the twcenter for sure, but I think I've posted it in here as well.

When testing changes, you should ALWAYS start a fresh campaign and delete the map.rwm. If you follow my guide, and do this as well, you'll have the most chance of success.

What I do for changes in the imperial campaign is:
- To create a provincial campaign with all the files required (without .rwm file)
- Start the game in the provincial campaign.
- Exit
- The new .rwm file is generated, and I substitute the old one in the imperial campaign.

I don't know if there is a faster method, but this one works perfectly for me.

Thanks for the tips, my heart almost stops beating when you notice the game won´t load, especially when you can´t find that anything is wrong. Sometimes it seems totally random when the game don´t load after some changes you made.

Use the show_err command and you will not have a heart attack if it doesnt load. It will tell you the problem and on what line it is. Just make sure your notepad you have enabled details on viewing line numbers. it helps.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand this situation. I never had problems before I switched to 1.5 with this, but now I'm having the same troubles Berhard seems to be having. I get no showerr messages upon exiting either. Does the game not generate map.rwm files like it did before? What in the world is going on with it now?
