Does anyone have any good images of a medieval Magyar during the time of the great Magyar raids in central and eastern Europe (10th century CE)? I can't seem to find any, and I'd like to give my class some idea of what the Magyars would have looked like. Maybe even a scanned image from an Angus McBride or an Osprey book?

My students will thank you!

Cheers

Osprey Men-at-Arms 150, The Age of Charlemagne (by David Nicolle), contains a picture of a Magyar cavalryman by Angus McBride (picture G). I have the book, but no scanner, unfortunately. Maybe someone else could scan it?

This is from the Concord Publications 'Barbarians' book, and of course is by the impeccable McBride:

I have one from the Atilla and the Nomad Hordes, as well as a few others... I will try and scan them when I get a chance.

Here's one from Age of the Crusaders, again by McBride, which not many of you probably will have seen. It depicts the battle of Lechfeld, in particular where a lone Carolingian horseman has bravely charged at 3 Magyar cavalrymen. Sorry for the quality it was tough to scan:
