My single player campaign is crashing to the desktop everytime I load at 159 BC playing as the Julii if it matters...
Its really annoying...
Is something specific causing this crash?

Was it started in a different version?

I have the same issue, but at 237 BC. The saved game was started in the current version of RTW (1.5) so the version isn't an issue. Others have reported similar problems and, to the best of my knowledge, there is no cure.

Do me a favor, when your in that campaign, go out and go to the task manager and see how much memory RTW is using, it seems there is like a mega-memory leak that is causing the crash, it happens really fast...
I started RTW and it was using 114mb, then it spiked very quickly just before the crash to 251mb...
Is it the same for you?
This isn't some historical event is it? I should clean those out...
I'm really getting sick of all the problems this game has...

event volcano eruption_at_vesuvius
date 99 summer
position 103, 65
event historic philosophy_is_foppish
date 103 winter
event historic astronomy_advances
date 114 summer
event historic lex_aebutia
date 114 winter
Year 171, 167, 156BC...
Nah it can't be historic event...
Try starting game with option -show_err maybe it can help.
(right clik shortcut, properties, add to the first field space and then show_err

Kickius, try my modified historical_events.txt file and see if it helps your 237 BC problem; it fixed mine. Go to my page and save the text file that you'll find there on the list:
http://personalpages.tds.net/~mzimmer/
(should be the second item on that page). Copy your current historical_events.txt file as a backup and insert this one into your Data file. It includes both versions of the problematic historical events and thus allows play through 237 BC on games started in 1.5 and in earlier versions.
Sorry, no ideas for the original poster, though.:sweatdrop:
gardibolt,
I sent you PM...

Gadribolt, thanks. I will give it a try, but probably won't have a chance to do so until this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.
