That would probably be your problem. Just buy the game.
Also, I think these forums have an anti-piracy policy.
Edit: yep:
Examples of objectionable messages include, but are not limited to:
Posts containing addresses of warez sites or anything piracy-related; note that this includes "hacks" designed to enable Shogun: Total War or Medieval: Total War to run without a CD.
Link to the rules (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/Rules.shtml)
By the way the rules do seem to be a little outdated (rome is not mentioned)
Its perfectly legal to use an image file to run the game; aslong as you have actually purchased the game. I myself use daemon tools to run all my games as it runs faster and i dont have to locate CDs and as i play lots of games i dont have to have them all to hand.
Its only illegal if you dont actually own the game yourself. As i can play EB i dont think this the problem.

@ Draek25
Count yourself lucky....use your time to do something productive instead of playing Total War
Think about all the things that could have been achieved with the man hours spent playing this game.

well thanx for your interest first of all i have to mention that i have the original game but my game didnt worked when i patched it to 1.2 ....then i ve learned that the patch is not designed for the version in my countrys (armenia) i searched the forums and everywhere and i ve found the image file and that do the trick...i am against piracy too but sometimes bigger companys can be the worst pirates always remember that..well thx anyway for your help i ve fixed it thats my foolish i ve waited 5 minutes and it loaded have a nice weekend...
Hey, so if you can't play you can still help us digging up ancient Armenian stuff...
