Hi all,
I want to know what your strategy is with these nomad Yuèzhi people (near the chinese border). After two turns I capture the city north of Seluk (capital of the Yuèshi). But then after 3 turns I haven't got any money. How do you make profit with these guys??
BTW, the subeshu archers (I dont know if i've spelled that correctly) have 0 maintaining costs...
Please help.
Thanks

You profit very slowly, and focus completely on the use of subeshi archers. Doing that, you can capture a lot of Northern rebel cities. By this time, I was profiting enough to train a unit of subeshi archers every turn, and then move south to take over the couple of Baktrian cities.
Any strategy for these guys, requires a great deal of patience ~D

I don't understand. If you are making losses after 3 turns, you cut down the cost of your little army and you still make losses how can you even make profit?? You can not build anything becoz your number one city seluk begins with a loss of -1000 or sth? If you conquer the city to the north that will give you a profit of 300. So you getting deeper in debt by each turn??
If you have patience (let's say 15 turns) you already have several K of debts......
So no army, no buildings no nothing...

Well, first off, you wont be making any progress unless you take the Northern city immediately. You have to attack it immediately after you have the right siege equipment.
After you've taken it it, get rid of all your cavalry everywhere, and try and replace them with subeshi.
Needless to say, everyone should be on 'very high tax rate.'

Also, in your first turn spend all your money putting economic buildings in your constuction queue (roads, there's a good temple that gives additional taxes). I took the northern city, then paused for a while, then went after Baktria. Boy, mistake. Five years, much money, and three failed sieges of Baktra later, I've just about managed to gain the upper hand. Most of my troops are mercs however, which are far more plentiful than my native units.
Plus, don't forget the forager trait. If you've got a spare family member you don't want to pay upkeep for stick him within the borders of an enemy or Eleutheroi province and he'll pay for himself.

It'll be fun when I fix that upkeep bug.
