View Full Version : Should I order Warlords?
I saw on the mainpage that you can order the warlord edition ... and that EA might be shipping it in 5 days.
Is anyone going to order the warlord edition even though they already own Shogun: Totalwar? They might be releasing the Mongol Invasion expansion pack much later. I have looked at the game stores and haven't found a word about it, but the Warlord edition is everywhere...
Has EA said anything about this?

I saw on Amazon that they start shipping it 3/21. I don't know if that's an Amazon date or, as with books, if that's a publisher's laydown date.
Geisha-I may buy the Warlord addition if the add-on isn't going to be released at the same time. A further incentive is if all the patches are in the Warlords? (I haven't really looked yet to see). I am in favor of low maintenance gaming, so I may buy it just to keep from going insane trying to learn how to install patches--learning to expand .zip files only took me 5 hours!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
Warlords in the special edition of the game, it includes the original game and the expansion pack. You won't have to download the invasion pack Contubernalis, they will be releasing it as a seperate product.
If you look at www.totalwar.org (http://www.totalwar.org) you will see that bushido blade ordered it from EA and it said they would be shipping it in 5 days.

Boy, deja vu... (thinking of about one year ago at this time on the Org)

Seal-Kô, do you know something we don't? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
Seriously, I think this "early release" thing is bogus. In all likelihood they've forgotten to flag Warlord Edition as a "Coming Soon" product at EAStore, nothing more. I mean, if ea.com (http://www.ea.com) *itself* says that the 'pack will be released in March, why on Earth would they be releasing it more than a month before?! And why would they release it a month before they ship it to the retailers?!
Now, I haven't been able to access EAStore to prove or disprove this, as I'm currently running IE 3.02 and attempting to enter the store puts me in an endless redirect loop (darn this computer... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif but the EA webmasters could use a little less JavaScript nevertheless). However, to the best of everyone's EXCEPT EAStore's knowledge, Warlord Edition is not out - it's not even Spring 2001 yet! So, nothing will keep you from ordering it, but I *seriously* doubt you'll get it "in five days".

Thanks Anssi, that sounds right.
What are you doing running IE 3.02? Hehe http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
Warlord edition is out. Well EA are taking the money anyway. But it's only available for delivery in U.S., Canada, and Mexico http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
I am with Anssi on this one, but even if it is not out yet, it is a good omen that so much publicity is being given already as this must surely be an indicative that the game is nearly ready.

Yes, unless you already noticed, check out Ben from DT's comment (http://www.totalwar.org/data/news/comments.cgi?view=71) at the main page. EAStore screwed up. Let us move on.
(Geisha-san: my primary computer was undergoing maintenance, so I had to use my old one - 14.4kbps is no pleasant experience for a person who's used to a cable modem. But now my newer computer is back, better than ever! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif)
