Where can I get 1.5 patch files zipped?

I tried to put 1.5 on a version of RTW on my cpu but it says no prior installation found. I never actually installed RTW on this cpu, but copied it over from another cpu of mine where I did install it.

So I'd like to have one version of 1.5 RTW to test some things out on, but I don't know how to do it. Anyone know how to make this work?

Make sure the path name to your installation is:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War

I believe the patch looks for that folder and that folder only. Then you can copy that to another copy on you HD if you wish and leave the original unmodded - or whatever you want!

Just tried changing one of the files to that name DG, but it still stops before the installation and says no prior version of rtw was found. Hmm. Will keep trying.

Try using a program called Regmon (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html) which tells you which programs are trying to access which keys. You could see what keys the installer is failing to find and then make them yourself... might be a pain in the arse though. I would do it but I don't have the installer. Let me check with the 1.3 installer for you.

I appreciate the upload there E.T., but unfortunately it is of the exe file (zipped or rar'ed). What I need are the files that it creates. The installer (exe) will not install anything onto my cpu since I never installed RTW on it - instead I installed it on another cpu and copied it over to this one.

EB has the 1.2 patch files zipped up for manual installs, and I just thought maybe someone has the 1.5 files zipped up somewhere too. I'll figure some way of doing this. Thanks for the effort though - i do appreciate it.

the rar file is all the files created by the official 1.5 (patch exe) not the exe in self...

Sorry ET, but that is just the 13megabyte exe file itself from the game. It won't do anything. It doesn't have any of the files created by the 1.5 patch.

Are those the only files that 1.5 updates? If they are, that's it. I just don't know which ones it does change.

yeah, i extracted the files to an epmty directory (with the exe in it).. and that is they.

as far as i know... 1.3 is required for 1.5, and it's like 100mb. but 1.5 is pretty small.
