I thought I was supposed to get it back in a month, and it has been a month now. I frequently misspell and forget words, sometimes also do other eorrs, and thereforwe I can hardly post anything withoyut edit button. I've been waiting patiently for a month over a warning caused by a stupid misunderstanding of one of my posts, exactly the kind of misunderstanding that also arise from posts I make with omitted words and other mistakes, before I've gone back to edit it because I realized it could havre an alternative meaning to the one I tried to give. As long as this disappeared edit button remains gone for some reason I can't understand (it can hardly be to "teach" me to follow forum rules as it just causes more potential misunderstandings of what I post and the original reason for the warning was a misunderstanding) I find it very difficult to stay at this forum. Plus the removed signature also means I can't, as I would almost need given the circumstances, put a "I mean no harm with what I have written, if you interpret it that way I'm sorry, it was a typo on my part" at the bottom of all posts to compensate for it. Now that I revisited the topic in question where this misunderstanding occured, I also noticed that someone had edited out my apology to RH. That apology clearly showed that what I had written wasn't supposed to be taken as an insult, but as a parable, which unfortunately was possible to interpret as an insult, which was why I apologized.

Hello LegioXXXUlpiaVictrix,

The warning was issued at 1-5-2006 around 23.00 and lasts 31 days. As it is a 2 pointer and the only (and hopefully the last), that warning is responsible for your edit button being gone.

If my math is worth anything: the effect should be voided today around 23.00. If not, then I need to update my math or your account.

Ok now I see - it's the 6th today and it's supposed to end the 6th (I thought it ended 5th)? Thanks, if so there's no problem. ~

Isn't removing peoples edit buttons a very stupid punishment? It lowers the readability of the forum and makes post more prone to be misunderstood. Also makes double posts more normal. What about a two day probation or something?

Yes and no.

Most stupid of all is that people who are able to turn on a PC fail to behave.

None of the stupid rules/settings/punishments here are to please my sadistic nature (they are too soft for that), but are a reaction by several admin to unwanted events during many years.

Personally, I'm very disappointed that this forum requires passwords to protect accounts. In 2000 one came here, told his name and used that to post. Everything was happy and fine until some troll decided to post slander using others name.

OK, this will take more 'juice' than I have. We'll get working on this right away. Please have patience, while we solve this tech problem.
