... When will the patch be done?

I have to say it:
When it's done.
We want to get it out ASAP, but we also don't want to give you something that doesn't resolve the major bugs that have been reported to us. We're trying to get governments and recruitment straightened out, we've resolved the known traits and scripts CTDs. The 'died of the plague' description will be fixed, along with some other minor text issues and major text editing.
Some superficial issues tied to cultures will not be resolved with the patch, though. These include strat map characters speaking with voices from a different culture. The text issues arising from our culture swap should be mostly fixed (where it says, "You have been attacked by an army of Rome" when you fight Arche Seleukeia, etc).
Also, the bug that causes CTDs when AI stacks unexpectedly arrive at the same location, and the bug that causes CTDs when AI reinforcements are involved in a battle with you will not be fixed. We don't even know what causes this (autoresolve may get you around the CTD, but you'd probably lose a battle in auto that you'd win fighting it out).
There will be new traits, though!

The issues that are not going to be resolved in the coming issue are still going to be worked on for the future right? I know it's a stupid question, but I just need to know for certain so my heart can rest at ease.

Don´t you guys ever give up? I´m so sick of this. I rarely get pi__ed but theese kind of posts really ticks me off. Have you even read the other threads, the stickies etc? There are numerous posts like yours with this exact question.
They´ll released it when it´s ready. They´ll announce it when they know they can deliver. If you have issues with something not working properly in the beta then don´t play it. Help the team instead and post your "bugs" in the appropriate forum (above).
How would you like it to work with a "community-sword" like this hanging over your head? Not a good working environment right?! Please refrain from theese Q´s in the future and check the threads before asking.
Well people are eager for the next patch, so therefore they will ask the question!
If they weren't eager I think EB might have a problem.
What really gets on my nerves on forums in general, are people who have no patience and go way over the top like they are some kind of demi god, when there really is no need.
3 words... GET A LIFE
Maybe there should be a solitary sticky thread purely for people to rant about patches, and for EB chaps to post predicted release dates when they want to.
The armies marching to the same spot causing a CTD is the worst bug of them all though =/ I would only release the patch when you've figured this out and fixed it because a big percentage of crashes are caused by this bug.

That isn't going to happen Dayve. We have to keep moving forward correcting other things, and we have a lot of corrections almost ready - so we will release a patch for these things first. Let's see how many CTDs occur with this new patch first and then reassess things.

Yeah, come on fellas, not everybody who wants to take an interest in this mod has spent months of their lives studying Forum ettiquette. A simple"not yet" would have sufficed. The Dev who answered him was perfectly considerate and polite so why cant other members be?

The oddest thing about this is, people (members) say it is
almost ready.
Can someone clarify this? If it was going to be done when it is done, you wouldn't be able to say that. How many more issues need to be resolved, since it appears you know what issues you are and aren't going to resolve? I'm just curious, and I know I am not the only person wondering the answer to this question...

God dammit!
Okay, I just had to say it. Now I feel better.

Kick ass.
Alright, all in all, I figure, you guys have done a phenomenal job, and it is already a totally brand-new game, infinitely better even with all of the CTDs and bugs. And you've got more important stuff to fix than that Rome/Seleucid bug.
Is the new patch going to have the Yuezhi in it? Or are they going to be chopped for the next patch and replaced by someone else?

I was looking at the descr_sound_strat_* files recently and there's nothing there that lets you modify which sounds go to which culture. The only fix I can think of would be one of 3 things:
1. Make completely new sounds (I don't see this happening any time soon, with the number of people able and willing to do voice acting for RTW). This would get the best result, though.
2. Unpack the sounds, rename them, and pack them back (this way, Greeks could say "Imperator" and have speeches about the glory of Rome instead of Seleucids). You're just moving the problem around.
3. Maybe BI or the 1.5 patch have better options for cultures here. But from what I've read, the voices are off in those games, too.
Basically, I see no solution to this issue with the next patch or any patch in the future, unless it's #1.
yes in BI the huns prance around saying "yes my leige" , and the goths are strategos, it's fixable via text file though, see player1's "bug-fixer"
the cultures in the new patches are totally modabble, its just simple switches in descr_sm_factions
lets hope its even possible for you guys to port. it seems alot of the mods are having some real problems doing so
