None apparently if you're an international football player.
I feel for the man, this is nothing short of disgusting.

On January 26 he spoke proudly to an African newspaper about his three children while at the African tournament -unaware that the boy had died.

Oh come on! None of us put any value on life. How much do we give to charity? Almost nothing. We would rather buy computer games , clothes, etc etc rather than stop starving in other countries.
Did his family hide the news so he would do his best? No, we've got a story from the mirror - hardly more than a tabloid rag.
Get off your high horse and give the guy a break. talk about kicking a man when he's down... :furious3:

I think the "disgust" is directed at the "soccer chiefs" who withheld the information - not at the player who lost his child.
I agree though that tabloids also tend to withhold information that would help the reader to better understand the full situation (the story as it is would indeed be disgusting - but with these kind of papers you often have the feeling that the story might be somewhat "imcomplete")

Freedom of the Press. Sometimes you got to love them, some times you want to hate them.
Tabloids are the worst form of yellow journalism that is massed produced for the willing audience.
