Help... I'm playing the Almohads in Late, and though my Khalifah has the maximum number of influence counters he can't seem to make any friends on the world stage... All of my requests for alliance or even ceasefires get rejected, no matter what religion they are, Catholic, Orthodox or Muslim. Even factions whom I've got on the rocks, literally banging on the walls of their last meager provinces refuse to make peace.
Why? Is it because I happen to rule most of Western Europe?

Yes. Nobody likes aggressors, and once you control 60% of the map the game triggers a few mechanisms to slow you down. One is an increased number of vices in your family and governors, another is that no faction will make peace or accept an alliance with you anymore. Off course, the A.I. will seldom make peace if you own one of their home provinces, and factions on the brink of destruction tend to be suicidal anyway.
Welcome to the Org ~ .

Welcome to the Org, Umbramortii! ~
I don't know the exact number of provinces, but I know that generally once I've conquered around 1/3 of the map, the other factions don't want to be my friends anymore. Given that you control all of western Europe, it's safe to say that is indeed the reason you're being shunned. No one likes the "big guy" in MTW!

Thanks... I suspected that that might be the cause.
I'm actually not a newcomer to MTW nor to the Guild... I last played it almost 4 years ago, when it first came out, and also joined this forum. However I hadn't touched it again till very recently, and of course I've forgotten my old user-name and password. I've come to find that this game is still as addictive as ever. :laugh4:

Glad to have you back then!
And once MTW starts to lose a bit of its luster for you, try out some of the most excellent mods available here.
I personally am a big fan of the XL mod and MedMod, but I know a lot of people like BKB's mod as well.

I can personally vouch for the XL mod as well, it's greatly increased my enjoyment of the game. I'd strongly urge trying out MedMod and BKB's mod too, though, when you get a chance. I plan on doing so myself, but I'm still having too much fun with XL. ~;)
