This is an advanced warning that i may suddenly disappear for a while within the next month or so. The reason being that my monitor, which some of you may know is dying of old age, has suddenly taken a turn for the worse. As well constantly squashing in on itself about 3-5cm top and bottom for minutes on end, twice in the last hour the entire thing has squashed itself into a thin line half a centimetre wide, and if this happens again and is permanent, it's going to be pretty hard reading the .Org.

I believe my monitor is in my death throws. The sooner i raise funds for a new one, the better.

Or, my fellow .Orgahs can help the situation by occasionally combing ebay.co.uk for cheap monitors under £50 within 100 miles of Huddersfield. If you spot one, make sure it's 19" across or more, and doesn't have any defects whatsoever, even if it claims to be a minor one. My current monitor had a tiny insignificant defect since i bought it, and now it's ended up like this.

So remember .Orgahs, keep your eyes on Ebay.co.uk and don't worry if i disappear!

I found two monitors on tigerdirect.com.

This one is refurbished, 50 USD after rebates (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=671927&CatId=169)
New, 70 USD after rebates (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1205736&CatId=169)

Their shipping policy (http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/help/shipping.asp) is pretty vague, but indicates that they can ship overseas. I would imagine shipping & handling would not be unbearable, but I don't know for sure.

They seem to be worth investigating.

And maybe this should be moved to the new forum?

I like the 'Famous Brand' monitor. Looks pretty good, and sounds pretty good, with a ridiculously high resolution.
