Anyone still playing probably the best small arms war simulator to date?

I've been playing the FFUR mods for some time now, and they add so much to the original game (no more soldiers that run around like they've broke their back), better animations, you can peak around corners, hi-res textures, and still good mp functionality to boot.

I still play it a good deal when I have the time. I can't play online though.
Where would I find these mods? I could probably get a friend to download them for me to further enhance OpFlash.

Do you have the expansions?

Here's the place where you can get the FFUR mods... also you might want to check

http://www.opflashpoint.org/

http://www.ofpbase.com/

http://www.atwar.net

Unfortunately due to it's age, and other sites having some funding issues these are the most reliable sites.

If you haven't checked out the Finnish Defense Force Mod, thats also one well worth playing.

OFP still has one of the largest modding communities in the world, just finding good sites is tough.

If you've got a good computer (Geforce 5 or higher/ Radeon 9 series Graphics Cards) definantly get DXLL which forces trilinear filtering and reflective water.

I played it when it first came out, but I quickly got tired of the rest of my squad getting themselves killed and being told I had lost the mission......

Well in some respects the tactics in OFP are as critical to not taking losses as the tactics in RTW are, obviously if you charge head first into an enemy (with AK-47s Mind you!), he's going to take the opportunity to either ambush you or get into a prone/ready stance. Flanking is the key.

Yeah, but when you start out as a nobody and your buddies all run off and get themselves killed...not much you can do. I remember one of the early missions being driven by jeep to some woods. Within seconds my 3 comrades were dead. Through stealth and patience I managed to kill all the Russians in the wood on my own, but still lost the mission cos the 3 AI guys in my team got themselves killed. Several similar missions later and I gave up.

Well the original OFP AI sucked, admittedly. However, FFUR does a lot to change the dynamic AI, your own comrades aren't nearly as retarded.

I still play a bit. Mostly, I spend time to create mission for my brother. For some reason, he doens't like the campaigns (i had to extract all campaigns to single missions for him).

I heard about FFUR, dled it but haven't had time to play it yet.

The mission where you were cut-off from your team with russian patrols everywhere has to be one of my most immersive gaming experiences ever. Very good game, tough as nails.

True. I had to try that mission veery often until I manged to escape in a car, with a Hind shooting at me.
Was one of the best campaigns I ever played.

I enjoyed playing until you become an officer. Damn control scheme way to clunky for my tastes.

I think the helicopter and tank missions sold the game for me

I love the multiplayer missions where you get to use choppers. It's loadsa fun the Abomination mission. I always grab a Blackhawk and drop a squad of troops near a village before waiting for friendly A10's to destroy the shilkas and then I provide close air support with my machinegunner. That and Desert Ambush 2 are my favourites. I also like the HALO missions.

I've been into MFCTI (Capture the Island), recently been playing a lot of it with the FDF mod either the Desert Variant, or the WW2 Variant.
