I was wondering first why this thread was closed and second if the mods could provide a little more detail as to why a thread is closed. I know many times they do, but sometimes they don't. Thanks...

I dunno Dave, it seems clear to me. After the thread got a bit too heated, soly asked everone to keep their sense of humour about the topic. The thread participants failed to do so, therefore he closed it. Though there is humour there, it seemed to me there was still an edge behind it. At least that is how I read it.

it was my sense that what was originally posted as a humorous (or at least less-than-hateful) finger wagging at a popular media person was taken in the wrong direction too soon. better to just pull the plug early.
which is too bad because more news became available and i would have liked to have added to it.

light-hearted threads die a painful death in the backroom. better to put them down humanely.
