As we are (all?) aware this year the Commonwealth Games are to held in Melbourne. The heads of the games has decided to step up security in view of current World events.

Commonwealth Games officials have denied that security measures for Melbourne2006 were out of control, saying that the ordering of random anal cavity probes of Melburnians, a month out from the event, was a perfectly normal big event security measure.

“We ask Melburnians to understand that there is an element of inconvenience to having such a glittering and fantastic event in their city,” said Victorian Police Commissioner James Gordon.

“In this post 9/11 world, tanks in the streets, army helicopters sweeping the city, random anal probes and the occasional rounding up and shooting of homeless people is just the Games organisers’ way of saying we care and we want to protect you.”
