Junior Members cannot post in the other sections until you gain the rank of a regular member (which is just a week or two), this is so you can introduce yourself to the site, and so that totalwar.org can prevent such nuisances as Spammers and Trolls.

Don't Worry, it won't be very long until your promoted.

And Welcome to the .org!~

It is a long shot, but perhaps TosaInu can retrieve your old account. You can try sending him a PM.

Welcome back, BTW ~ .

If you post some interesting posts, without any internet slang, you'll be a full member in no time!

I recently replied to a post and found, rather strangely, that the person I was replying to had been made a member after only one post, and that was a request for help. Friends in high places perhaps? :laugh4:

It is quality, not quantity, that count here.

Is this just recently made so? A year ago (other account, don't remember which) I was able to post in all the threads immediatly after I registered. Will I be able to start topics to or do I have to wait even longer for that?

IIRC, the policy has oscillated. When I first joined way back when, there was the present screening process; later it was removed (probably when you last joined) and now it is back. It's continually under review, although yesterday's blitz of posts in here promoting the KKK may not have helped the case for a relaxation.

Members can start threads and pretty much do everything, AFAIK. Senior membership is just an honorific.

I know it can be frustrating, but promotion to full membership does not take long as recent members should be able to testify.

Is it a matter of time: e.g. in one week you become a member
or is it a matter of post: e.g. after 10 posts you become a member

I want to become an active member and because I've been reading the Org for about a year I know I can make a contribution.

I think its a case of what you post and your manner. Obviously my post are rubbish as Im still waiting! ;)

Promotion is not based on post count but on contribution. If you post regularly in a friendly and helpfull manner you will be promoted soon enough. I don't know which particular case blazer-glory is referring to, but occasionally the moderation-team will single out a new member for early promotion. Conversely, spamming will delay promotion and trying to upset the EH with politically laden messages is asking for the ban.

Overall its not a hinderance at all. All my question and cries for help have all been answered and thats all that matters.

The KKK blitz last week was rather annoying to say the least.

Giving 16 odd warning points to a person would have been a lot easier if their screen name wasn't jesus :dizzy2: . Talk about an ironic choice of screen names for either a KKK or flamer (or both).

The main idea is to help the newcomers and to stop the trolls. Particularly good behaviour/ posts do get noted and the person may get promoted faster.

I really don't know what you need to do to move up in rank... one day I just looked and I was a member. It wasn't a big change though because I was never restricted from posting in any forum, the only thing I gained was the ability to edit my posts.

Can I ask what this KKK is? Is it the organization or something related to it, or is it some acronym for a type of poster?

White supremacy group... although in all likelyhood the poster was just a wannabe troll.

Thanks...I mean I know what the Ku Klux Klan is, but I didn't know what was going on last week.

Our esteemed Papewaio, the Kiwi, living in an Aussie timezone, sitting here all alone (staff-wise) managed to deflect a spam attack of very disturbing racist/supermicist content, virtually single-handedly. support props to Simon Appleton

We know, sympathetically (and empathically, since most of us have also gone through it), that jumping through the "Junior-to-Member" hoop is annoying, time-wasting, and seemingly unnecessary. We're sorry for that feeling, really.

But that 'hoop' helps keep the place the kind of site we like, one we hope you will like too. The kind of place where you can speak your mind, make your point, or post your contribution... without fear of the ridicule and silly humiliation you might find on other game fan-sites. Here at the Org, we take you and your contributions seriously, respectfully, honestly. In turn, all you must do is be honest, respectful & serious towards us.

Oh...and laugh! (I always forget that bit) "Have fun!" is the ultimate rule here. As it ought be.

My apologies for the spam. I thought I was logged into KKKTW.org.

Silly me.
