View Full Version : PC Format
Good to see EB on the PC Format disks this month, and a mention in the mag. Tis great that as many people as possible get to play this excellent mod.

I haven't seen that yet. I'd appreciate seeing any quotes that are mentioned. Thanks.
"Although the name might suggest that this mod may have been superseded by the official Barbarian Invasion expansion, it was actually designed to be a total conversion recreating the time period as accurately as possible. All the old models have been removed and replaced with new units, and the diplomatic relationships have been changed with realistic consequences to breaking alliances. The new campaign map also adds plenty of play

YAY I guess?
This is good news, though I hope the readers realize it's a beta and not the full product.

Yeah, that bothered me too when I noticed the quote didn't say anything about it.

PC format says get EB? HOO-rah!:2thumbsup:
Better release the patch quickly.
As if there wasn't enough pressure already. :2thumbsup: :laugh4: :help: :dizzy2:
Yeah it would be dreadfull if people got it and thought it was the finished product, i guess a quick release of a patch is the only way to solve the problem ~;)
Also can any mag just put the mod on their discs, or did someone in EB authorise it?

I've seen no statement that EB knew of it or was contacted. EB is not doing any publicity actually (you've seen no interviews except one at the very beginning, nothing really up till this point other than the release of our website and the open beta itself for testing). Probably won't see any changes in this until either the full build is finished or something very stable and polished is ready en route to that full build.
I know it's not a product, so there would be no need, but have you copyrighted it? PC format could be stealing ye know... (not that it is a bad thing in this case, but they should have contacted you, manners and all)

Isn't asserting copyright over this kind of thing a little tricky?
Someone at EB should probably get onto the people at PC Format and ask them if they want to release a finished version sometime, or at least ask them to make it explicit that it is a WIP.

Hey! Why not?
At least you should put something on your site for people who are interested in doing this to either contact someone associated with the mod or wait until the complete version comes out.

I have contacts at PCFormat as I wrote some articles for them (in which EB was mentioned of course, this isn't the first time EB gets into PCFormat ) If you like I can get in touch with them.
