2) The format of answers should be like this:
The original question: What colour is a banana?
What colour is a banana?
Answer goes underneath: Yellow
Now! The Quiz! He who wins this quiz shall be crowned Geek Queen of the .Org!

So far, lancelot is winning. I'll just highlight the questions he got wrong.
8) At the beginning of the Deep Space 9 (DS9) series, who was leader of the Cardassian Empire?
Central Command
12) In what year did humans develop warp drive and make first contact with another race?
Oh crap....on the tip of my tounge....2050-something...2053?
15) In Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG), what was the furthest distance Enterprise ever went?
System j-25
19) How many lightyears away is the planet Vulcan?
Got me there....12?
lancelot: Very good with the last question, i was surprised you got that! Anyway, i'm afraid that you can't try and do the quiz again, but still, you're in the lead! That is, until Beirut arrives. I hear he's some sort of disturbingly accurate Star Trek encyclopedia.

^I was surprised I got question 16 right... and surprised I got 8 wrong...im gonna go look that one up!
No 15 I realised I had wrong just after I had posted but did not change it afterwards..how sporting of me!
16/20...thats a pretty high nerd factor....oh well.
A question for you....in the DS9 episode where Adm Leyton attempts a starfleet coup. What was the original plan for this episode/major plot point to be, before settling on the episode as shown?

1) What does the 'T' in James T Kirk stand for?
Tiberius

3) How did the Klingons get cloaking technology?
Uh, from the Romulans, I guess?
4) The ship 'Enterprise' seen in TOS was the first starship named 'Enterprise'. True or false?

No idea.

Oh, it was in that mediocre film when they go back in time and LaForge gets to meet the guy who invented it, only he's a drunk and the farmer dude from Babe.
13) What was the name of the man who accomplished this?
Farmer dude from Babe.
14) And what race did he make contact with?
Vulcans, I think.
15) In Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG), what was the furthest distance Enterprise ever went?
Wasn't that when Q hurled them into space to meet the Borg?
16) In Star Trek: Voyager (Voy), what was the top speed of Voyager?
Did anybody actually watch that show?
17) In DS9, what was the name of the shadowy agency that offered Dr Julian Bashir a chance to join their ranks?
:book:
18) What colour is an Andorian?
:book:
19) How many lightyears away is the planet Vulcan?
:book:
20) One episode of TNG gave an explanation as to why all races (except Tholians) are humanoids. What was this explanation?
Oh I remember that one. There was some founder race that seeded the planets and made everybody in their image. Execpt for the foreheads. Everybody got their own foreheads.
Wow. I suck at this.
Can I get a special award for coming in last place?

They both wipe out klingons :laugh4:
I'm gonna try this, but some of your answers are wrong. Any information presented in a book is wrong/ignored by the movies/tv series.
1) What does the 'T' in James T Kirk stand for?
Tiberius
2) What is the reason for Klingons in the The Original Star Trek (TOS) not having the cranial ridges of Klingons in later series?
A Klingon experiment to create augments (Like Khan Sing) resulted in a viral pandemic across the Klingon empire, one of the test subjects had a flu type virus and the augment DNA mutated it too. It was cured with the help of Dr. Flox and Capt. Archer, but any Klingon who had the virus and was cured lost their forehead ridges.
3) How did the Klingons get cloaking technology?
Stole it from the Romulans
4) The ship 'Enterprise' seen in TOS was the first starship named 'Enterprise'. True or false?
False, the first Starfleet ship named Enterpruise was the NX-01.
5) When was the United Federation of Planets (UFP) founded?
2173
6) Where are Starfleet headquarters?
Earth
7) Who built Deep Space 9?
The Cardassians
8) At the beginning of the Deep Space 9 (DS9) series, who was leader of the Cardassian Empire?
This one where the question is bad and you have faulty information. The leadership of the Cardassian empire when DS9 started was the central command. Cardassia was a military junta. Gul Dukat was the commander of the 3rd order (this is used to describe Cardassian armies and fleets). He only becomes sole leader of Cardassia when he joins the Dominion in season 4 or 5.
9) The Galaxy is divided into 4 quadrants. Name them.
Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma.
10) Name a major civilisation of each quadrant.
Alpha: UFP, Delta:Borg, Gamma:Dominion. Romulans are in the Alpha quadrant.
11) Name 4 of the original founders of the Federation.
There were actually 7 or 8. But 5 were named. They were Humans, Andorians, Vulcans, Tellerites, and Denobulans.
12) In what year did humans develop warp drive and make first contact with another race?
2063 or 2046. Those are the dates that I keep coming up with.
13) What was the name of the man who accomplished this?
Zepheram Cochraine
14) And what race did he make contact with?
Vulcans
15) In Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG), what was the furthest distance Enterprise ever went?
The edge of the universe. The closest thing that the could recognize was stellar body j-25, and it was behind them.
16) In Star Trek: Voyager (Voy), what was the top speed of Voyager?
Warp 9.975, on a good day.
17) In DS9, what was the name of the shadowy agency that offered Dr Julian Bashir a chance to join their ranks?
Section 31
18) What colour is an Andorian?
Blue
19) How many lightyears away is the planet Vulcan?
20
20) One episode of TNG gave an explanation as to why all races (except Tholians) are humanoids. What was this explanation?
Tholians aren't humaniods, they look like an octopus made of crystal. Anyway the first intelligent race in our galaxy (who looked like Crash test dummies) seeded many worlds to give rise to an intellligent life form. So that the intelligent life that came after wouldn't be alone in the galaxy as they were.

11) Name 4 of the original founders of the Federation.
There were actually 7 or 8. But 5 were named. They were Humans, Andorians, Vulcans, Tellerites, and Denobulans.
Im pretty sure that is incorrect. Cannon info so far (as Im aware) lists 5 original signatories, Humans, Andorians, Vulcans, Tellerites and Alpha Centuari I believe.
Unless I missed an ep of ENT that contradicts this.
Although I do think you are correct on the control of cardassia question, which in such case would put my score up a mark...

There is an ep that shows this. Now I'm lousy with episode names but in one season 4 episode of Enterprise they are on earth and negotiations for an alliance that would become the federation (Enterprise says that the federation evolved from a NATO-like arrangment to an EU-like arrangment). And all the races I mentioned plus 2-3 others are at this meeting. The other 2-3 aren't named so one could be from Alpha Centuari.
Although I do think you are correct on the control of cardassia question, which in such case would put my score up a mark...
Dukat says to Garrick in one episode of DS9 that "We all serve the will of the central command" or something similar.
We need Beirut to settle this.

1) What does the 'T' in James T Kirk stand for?
tiberius.
2) What is the reason for Klingons in the The Original Star Trek (TOS) not having the cranial ridges of Klingons in later series?
it was a caused by a viral epidemic caused when the klingons tryed to incorporate superhuman (like khan singh) genes into their own.
3) How did the Klingons get cloaking technology?
.. ehh, i think they got it from the romulans for a ship design (maybe the early romulan bird of prey from TOS?).
4) The ship 'Enterprise' seen in TOS was the first starship named 'Enterprise'. True or false?
crap.. false?
5) When was the United Federation of Planets (UFP) founded?
haha, no idea.. uh.. 2171? just a guess.
6) Where are Starfleet headquarters?
san franciso, i think.
7) Who built Deep Space 9?
the cardasians.
8) At the beginning of the Deep Space 9 (DS9) series, who was leader of the Cardassian Empire?
ooph. no idea. i'll say gul dukat (sp?) just as a guess (but i'm 99% sure that's wrong, i actually thought they were governed by a senate or something).
9) The Galaxy is divided into 4 quadrants. Name them.
alpha, beta, gamma, delta.
10) Name a major civilisation of each quadrant.
alpha=federation, beta=romulan (in both alpha and beta), gamma=dominion, delta=borg.
11) Name 4 of the original founders of the Federation.
vulcans, humans, andorians, and uh.. uh.. yeah.
12) In what year did humans develop warp drive and make first contact with another race?
2063.
13) What was the name of the man who accomplished this?
zefram cochran.
14) And what race did he make contact with?
vulcans.
15) In Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG), what was the furthest distance Enterprise ever went?
ooo.. no idea on the figure, but in the first season they went to the m33 galaxy via some goof by the 'traveler'. it was like several thousand lightyears i think. maybe Q moved them further than that at some point, though?
16) In Star Trek: Voyager (Voy), what was the top speed of Voyager?
uh.. you mean using the transwarp conduits? without that, the top speed was 9.975 (class 9 engines) but i think 7of9 augmented the engines with borg tech, so maybe it was faster than that.
17) In DS9, what was the name of the shadowy agency that offered Dr Julian Bashir a chance to join their ranks?
section 31.
18) What colour is an Andorian?
blue (sky blue).
19) How many lightyears away is the planet Vulcan?
wow, no idea. 50?
20) One episode of TNG gave an explanation as to why all races (except Tholians) are humanoids. What was this explanation?
there was a race of humanoids alive long, long ago that seeded an otherwise barren (in terms of intelligent life) galaxy with their dna.
Now, have fun, and we'll see who is the Geek Queen!
