Any Way to Play Multiplayer Campaign?

A friend of mine and I would love it if there was some way to play the campaign multiplayer. In theory, it doesn't seem impossible to mod the game; it's already set up to be turn-based, so all that would need to be done is allow another player to control a faction as opposed to the computer. Having no modding experience myself, though, I think it's likely much more complicated than it seems. *chuckle*

Any info on multiplayer campaign mods/patches/etc. would be greatly appreciated.

there is a thread located in the forge that tells you how to download a few mod files. probably called "MP campaign"
