The Cheese People...

Have you ever wrote something stupid in an email because you were distracted or not really paying attention and that person will not let it go. Well here's a funny story about one such email to my wife.

A few months a ago I was emailing my wife about what to do for dinner that night when we got home for work. I told here, "How about a cook up a cheese pizza for us and the kids." Well atleast that's what I meant to say, what I actually wrote was, "How about a cook up a cheese people for us and the kids".
Well here's the correspondance of today...

Think the kids would like it if I made the Duck noodles for dinner tonight? Maybe I'll add some chicken. It shouldn't take long to boil some chicken and then add the noodles. That should be good enough for tonight, right? See, and I was gonna ask you to cook the cheese people tonight!

My reply...
They'll love it. The cheese people will get theirs tomorrow!!! I love you, time to go to "work". I love you

When I worked in Wal-Mart management I would always substitute cursewords and insults with the word "satchel" in both conversations and while using the company email. I don't know why I picked the word, it was just a word I thought was funny and would use since I couldn't drop F-bombs or call people "lazy pieces of ***" etc so emails would read such as:

you tell that satchin buyer at the home office to stop being a satchel and the next time I get 4 pallets of some crap he didn't clear with me I'm gonna stick them up his satch

or

stop being a satchel and get to work

or even dealing with a problem customer and subtley calling them a satchel in the sentence, quickly enough that they don't quite know if you just called them a satchel or not, but clear enough for the associates listening in to where they start laughing

sometimes it was in anger, sometimes it was in jest, but the anger one was probably the oddest since its kinda surreal to have someone yelling at you calling you a satchel and having this seriuous look on their face

years later I go into some of these stores and hear people I have never met calling each other satchels, it sort of makes me proud but it also creeps me out, especially when they are stores in different towns or neighborhoods where I used to work

Yeah, I'll be talking to somebody, then I'll get distracted and hear another word, and then I'll place that word into the spot of some other word that I meant to say... then I look around stupidly and smile.
