We don't have anyone who can keep the forum up to date on a full time basis. All of us in EB wear different hats, and as such we hardly have time to respond to serious issues and technical support; the moderation is generally limited to trying to kill flame wars and remove trolls.

So, the situation isn't going to improve. We've asked for people to help us with the organization and such, but no one is willing to be active in the forum on a daily basis and do it.

Unless we get a volunteer here, someone with good organizational skills and a willingness to be active on a daily basis here (and in the forum at TWC, which is a mirror of this one), there won't be any help for it. Someone who will merge the necessary information into just a few informational threads, keep the FAQ thread up to date, and so on.

I am sure, out of the thousands of people who have downloaded the mod, someone must be willing and able to do this.

wow the humor of the EB team leader... it astounds me :inquisitive:

edit were you being serious or just trying to annoy the person who made the 'there are to many stickies' thread? cos i noticed another thread at the twcenter... i can never tell with the like of you

in that case i bet i could cut it down to about 5 threads stickied...

-a single 'Update' thread where the EB members are only allowed to post to give new information to the followers...
-a downloads thread which is locked and only opened by khelvan who tells people that the new download is available at the eb website
-a suggestions thread
-a link thread to other important threads (not stickied) which need discussions and suggestions
-and finally a help needed thread which is also locked and can be opened by whoever to update on things needed...

the rest of the threads can be unstickied but posses links in the stickied threads

GMM

(and if you were joking.... damn)

It isn't that I don't know what to do, it is that I have far too many other things to spend any energy on shuffling forum posts around.

For the next week I'm going to be gone, then I start a new job, and even if I wanted to prioritize this over actual mod work, which I don't, I couldn't get to it any time soon.

We need someone else, or it won't get done.

I may be able to keep a faq and a hotfix thread up to date, but I have only little time under the week, so most will be done at the weekends.
Im not able to organize the two forums on my own, so it would be neccessary to
get a supportment by a team. :shakehands:

Actually, I can probably handle the Forum stuff - what's really needed is someone to organize, update, and maintain the FAQs. Which is the kind of thing one could do primarily on weekends. If that sounds interesting, do me a favor and set up a "FAQ Workthread" where we can discuss what it would look like and how it should be handled. My second suggestion would be to seach the web for other games/mods to see how they handle FAQ's and get some ideas there. As they say, it's far easier to edit than it is to create!

The reformations I would impose if I was to be elected to grand moderator over the land of the Europa Barbarorum Mod fourm would be as follows:

Sub forums:

Europa Barbarorum Updates and patches.

Europa Barbarorum News.

Europa Barbarorum Technical help.

the_handsome_viking appreciation thread.

stickies Threads:

the_handsome_viking appreciation thread

the_handsome_viking appreciation thread

The Arena: argue about history, insult people, start fights.

The Circus Maxiumus Threadius: spam as many pictures as many pictures as possible to prove that you are the fastest forum poster.

Europa Barbarorum Barracks: for the training of moderators.

Europa Barbarorum Academy: for the training of Europa Barbarorum mod makers, scripters, skinners, historians etc.

Europa Barbarorum Forum...er....Forum: forum politicans debate about issues regarding Europa Barbarorum concerns, decide where the modification must go, and elect new forum Emperors.

Dungeon: where forum trouble makers and criminals go to be punished via verbal assault and mass spamming of smilies.

Non Sticky threads:

Looking forwards to your vote =).
