CTD help requested

I was really getting into my new roman 0.7.4 campaign, when all of a sudden, annoying end of turn CTD pops up. I tried running without background script, moving armies about etc, nothing seemed to stop it. Thought you guys would want to know of this bug, and also can anyone tell me how to overcome it? It's the Port Bug from v.73a (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1088207&postcount=1). We mention in the v.74 readme that if you copy v.74 on top of .73a, it will allow your campaign to continue....but it will NOT solve that bug unless you start a new campaign.

khelvan lists the fixes for this in the link, but they are a bit tricky.
