As it's long time from the last update, I think it's the moment for a brief summary of the progress of the mod, currently functional in RTW 1.5.

CAMPAIGN MAP

Although representing the same zone as ITW 1.0, the map for ITW 1.1 is completely new, more realistic in ground types, mountains, rivers and climates.
Here you have some nice (IMO ~ ) screenshots:

https://img361.imageshack.us/img361/6917/zonacelta0ew.th.jpg (https://img361.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zonacelta0ew.jpg)

Also the look is important, so we have changed the maps for the faction menu and the user interface.
https://img119.imageshack.us/img119/8598/menufacciones3ef.th.jpg (https://img119.imageshack.us/my.php?image=menufacciones3ef.jpg)https://img54.imageshack.us/img54/2095/uiiberos6bm.th.jpg (https://img54.imageshack.us/my.php?image=uiiberos6bm.jpg)
The barbarian factions have been splitted into two different cultures, one for the celtic tribes in Iberia, and the other (nomad culture imported from BI) for the gallic factions, in order to have culture penalties.

Now the ITW campaign substitutes the imperial campaign, and we are working in possible additional provincial campaigns with new features.

UNITS

Viriato, with the assistance of Idibil, has changed completely the turdetani faction. Here you have some images of the new units:
Scutati with musician:

Caetrati with lancea (light spearmen);

Light cavalry:

The celtiberian faction is also nearly finished.

Ive modestly begun to model some units, in this case slingers (these are my first attempts:juggle2: ):

We have also included the work of great modellers/skinners for the non-iberian factions. Examples of roman and gallic factions:

HORSES

We have modified completely the system of horses distribution.
Seven different breeds have been implemented in the mod, depending on the factions and the geographical distribution (from historical sources).
From left to right: Berber, Aryan 2, Lusitanian, Iberian, Iberian-celtic, Aryan 1, and Celdon.

They are different in height, robustness, and also in colors. Here you have some screenshots:

HISTORICAL BATTLES

After some initial problems, we have found a method to create historical battles, from the new imperial-campaign map.
There are three functional battles at the moment, and Karmipoka is working on several more.
Here you have some screenshots:
Ilorki: the asssault to a roman position on a hill by the carthaginian-illergete army.

Brief update for the fans (if any :inquisitive: ):

The team is testing an internal beta. Our objective is to release a new version (ITW 1.5, for RTW 1.5) in next weeks.

BATTLES

We have nearly finished (99%) this aspect of the new version.
Here you have my last two units: celtiberian mercenaries (infantry and cavalry) for the turdetani faction.
https://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/Monkwarrior/unidades-ITW/th_caetrata_iuventus_final.jpg (https://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/Monkwarrior/unidades-ITW/caetrata_iuventus_final.jpg)https://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/Monkwarrior/th_cab_merc_celtibera1.jpg (https://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/Monkwarrior/cab_merc_celtibera1.jpg)
The only unit that must be corrected is the hoplite with the weird problem I've reported in the questions forum.

- All the units have sprites, unit cards and info pictures.
- We are using Darth formations 13.0 with good results.
- All custom scenaries are new, corresponding to the new campaign map.
- Some new features: night battles, sounds...
- Historical battles: redesigned 8 original battles from previous version (Numantia, Vulcanalia, Ilorki, Baikor, Hibera, Cannae, Kastilo and Kesse) + 4 new battles (Ilipa in two versions, Ager Sedetani, and Zama)

CAMPAIGN

One imperial campaign in the new ITW map with the "classical" RTW system. This campaign is already finished.
The building system is slightly simpler than in RTW (trying to help the AI), and the system of technology spying will be functional.
All the cultures are able to reach large-city level, and only romans, carthaginians and greeks are able to reach huge-city level.

Three new provincial campaigns: one roman campaign, one carthaginian campaign and one iberian (six playable factions) campaign.
Each one will have its own script with missions, rewards and victory conditions.

All campaigns are playable at the moment, but we are finishing the scripts and the balance of the starting positions of the factions, from the in-depth AI behaviour research.

OTHER GENERAL ASPECTS

Only some minor graphical details are still to be done (some standards and banners, some maps for menus)

We are currently working in the translation. The mod will be again released in two versions (English and Spanish) and probably in some other language.

I hope the release will be very soon.:2thumbsup:

Wow that campaign map is excellent. I really like the patchy snow effect.
