...Says the man who was declared "Gay" on the latest homosexuality poll. ~:joker:

(Don't worry, it said I was gay too.)

Hard liquor for me; but not white liquor. Hell no, I like my liquor aged and straight-up; the more physically painful it is to drink, the better, because the more it burns, the better the flavour.

Speaking of which, has anyone ever had spiced Vodka? That stuff is good! :2thumbsup: They ought not even sell the other kinds.

Drinking now.:laugh4:

Switching between Budweiser select (which is lowcal, cheap, and tastes likes piss) and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (Which is in my top five beers).

My faves:

#1: The Guiness and Boddingtons Black & Tan. Take a 24 ounce tall pilsner glass and fill 2/3 with boddingtons. Fill the extra 1/3 with guiness. Expensive but unbelievably good.

#2: Arrogant Bastard Ale or Ruination Pale Ale by Stone Brewery in San Diego, Ca. Both are about 7% alcohol, almost like wine!

#3: Newcastle Brown Ale

#4: Sierra Nevada

#5: Samuels Adams or any of the brewery's seasonals.

There are a ton of other beers that I also love but can also be bought at the brewey: Karl Strauss and Oggi's being notable San Diego Faves.

I think thoughts about it are more strict here, but still plenty of people (including many of my friends), get drunk on Friday, Saturday and even Sunday night. Personally, I don't like the taste of some of the wine I've had, but I've never tried beer. I just assumed I wouldn't really like alchoholic beverages.

Plus, my parents are the naggy "on top of things" type, so drinking would just get me in trouble most the time. My dad lived through the 70's and such and he did all that stuff as a teenager. He knows how to catch me.:wall:

It's fine to get Drunk every now and then, especially if its your first time. When I got properly hammered for the first time my dad took me out back and congratulated me. You learn not to Drink excessively once you've thrown it back up again. :2thumbsup:

Not that I would have chosen it, but where is the cider option?

Don't you have 11 or 12% beers in the liquor stores?

My favourite beers at the moment are the Bock beers of Grolsch.

Ya know, Ive had Arrogant Bastard and I agree- it's very good.

Also, if you can get your hands on it in your area, I cant recommend Yuengling Lager enough. For a 'macro' brew, it's consistently good.

Too difficult to choose - I like all of them :barrel:

Wine: My default choice of drink to go with diner, or when having friends over for the evening.
No specific preferences here - the choice depends on the food and the mood

Beer: Prime choice for summertime and e.g. for barbecues (and for sitting at the PC in the evening); current choices to always have in the house are Köstritzer, Bitburger, some Hefeweizen (I love to get a Guiness when going out from time to time, though)

Liquor: Here my favourite is clearly Scotch single malt (usually Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Tallisker, Highland Park)

Ja'chyra
04-03-2006, 09:07
Vodka, usually mixed with Irn Bru :2thumbsup:

I was drinking paralyzers on Saturday night and they were nice, I think it's Vodka, Baieys, Kahlua and milk, very smooth when you drink them but you feel the kick later :sweatdrop: B-5's are quite nice too.

As I get older I seem to prefer cocktails, they taste better, what about everyone posts their favourite cocktails recipe?

bah, I've had some horrific binges on spirits and wine lately so I went for beer.

I currently have a taste for the works of:
St.Peter's brewery, Fullers Brewery, anybody who makes Scottish style beer (I mean the stuff like Newcastle rather than Tennent's lager).

I also must mention Brains brewery because they have a great name and they produce Skull Attack (S.A.) and Dark, both of which are lovely.

"It's Brains you want" as the slogan goes.

Generally, I don't drink anything not from the Baltic area, but I caved and bought some Portuguese beer (I couldn't resist...it had the word 'super' in its name). Turns out it's delicious, but I'll probably never see it again.

If your gonna do scotch, you best do it single malt. I completely agree. I like glenlivet and glenfiddich. Not hard to fine and decent quality; always aged at least a decade.

Whiskey Sour, margarita and tequila straight up are my recent drinks of choice but I use to like a zombie shot with a bud light chaser. I am also really warming up to anything mixed with Red Bull, like Blue UV Vodka. Cheers!

I hardly drink, but I chose the liquor option. Of course, I've only had beer a couple times, and both times it was terrible. Of course, one of those times it was busch light (can you get a worse beer?) but I've had some other ones that still taste bad. I guess its something you get used to...or just chug it until you're drunk.

Anyone here had coconut rum?

I drink mostly beer, but I liked drinking Wodka.
I drank it mixed with cola or just pure in small glasses.
I actually drank it only once and got pretty drunk without having to go to the toilet, which was a nice effect in contrast to beer.:2thumbsup:
