Supposed to be out in March, correct?
Well it is April, and there is nothing on rometotalwar.com.
Nice.
Where is it...? Another hollow promise?
Release dates that aren't official might well as not be. Even official release dates can be changed.

Yeah you're right, I sure wish it was like that at my job "uhh boss sure I'll have it done by March..." *April Rolls Around* "still working on it boss".
I would be fired, but CA, well someone has to employ...
MTW2 is a much bigger priority and the Alexander expansion is more of something extra. It could be that timelines are tight on MTW2 and not enough resources to spare for the expansion to release on time.
I suspect it is largely out of CAs hands at this point. Could be they hit a snag in playtesting. It could be that the new method of delivery needs more work and testing (how are they going to stop piracy?). It could be that there is a commercial timing decision about when is the best time to release an expansion, given whatever other titles are just out (going head to head with Oblivion, for example, might not be wise).
But I must say I am interested in this release, although Puzz3D has got me worried over the campaign length.

Check Blues News(http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=66141, they promised 40 hours of gameplay for the new faction, including 50 new units and 4 factions (Macedonia, India, Persia, and The Barbarians), with indian elephants, naked female archers and such.
This new expansion could probably break the mold of previous TW games, we might even get 2 expansions for M2TW.. probably.
Isnogood just posted this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=63318) in the Entrance Hall. However, I cannot find anything about it being free, like Isnogood claimed. Mind you, my German is not what it used to be.

The mentioned German article says, there will be a fee for the download :embarassed:

Sigh... going to have to have a word with those marketing folks again :sweatdrop:
naked female indian archers, what were they thinking...

But there's loads of good stuff in there too, so hopefully you'll be able to put up with the naked female archers :laugh4: basically it's held up because of some issues with the distribution, although it just about finished, and it's turned into a pretty decent campaign too.
No word on a release date btw, it could take a fair while longer.

I`m just concerned about how I will pay for the product.
There where never any naked femail archers in ancient india.:furious3:  :wall:

That`s probably true; and there aren`t in RTWA either.

My apologies. Isnogood wrote "fee" but I read "free". Apparently my English isn't what it used to be either :embarassed: .

I read somewhere that the Indians did employ a female guard around the time of Alexander's invasion, and they weren't exactly overdressed. Then again, most Indians weren't, given the climate.
JeromeGrasdyke, will this expansion require BI or can it be played on vanilla R:TW?

Lol... naked female archers...
You need to have a say with your marketing department.
Will that graphical glitch be fixed with the female units in the exp? You know running around with DoubleD breasts and they don't bounce a bit

Alexander does not need BI, you can rest easy on that account. It does need the latest set of patches tho, so a 1.5 install is what you want.
Does it, on its own, patches game in any kind (like BI), or it works on 1.5 exe?

Oh well too bad it isn't free.
Guess it is just another chance to boycott a CA product.

This is a really good idea...a great way to use the engine to expand game play and work on niche markets.

Can't see how anyone could expect a free product, really.
Good to hear work is still progressing, and I'm looking forward to playing it when it's released.

Has the expansion defintely been delayed till September?

I hope not. Because I want to enjoy the Alexander Expansion before the great MTWII comes out.
I hope a patch comes also with the Alexander Expansion please.

According to the com it has been delayed to september, so you can bet anything that MTW II will be delayed now as well

It's gonna be much much better now. The mods will have some pressure off from their chests.
It's for the good of the community if they delay MTWII.
Curious how they handle the timeline, Alexanders reign wasnt really that long, whats that maybe 20 turns?
But the block of time a turn represents is not a hard code.

I believe one of the magazine articles or possibly a CA post said that the turns will be much shorter; it will be a substantial campaign but you're racing against Alexander's clock.
