Inspired by the recent anime related thread by matteus…

There are dozens of them but I decided to only pick my top 10, if you have another one let us know!:2thumbsup:

I loved "Transformers" - especially the "second generation"
I also enjoyed "Silverhawks"
EDIT: I have to admit that I was already 16 when I saw those cartoons during a 6-months stay in the US - if we had had such cartoon in Germany when I was younger I would have had a real blast.

Optimus Prime was my hero.
Also enjoyed Conan the adventurer very much.:2thumbsup:

Transformers! I still have an Optimus Prime toy?
Not strictly an 80's cartoon, but did anyone else like Biker Mice from Mars? I can't imagine what the pitch for that must have looked like...
'Ok, what's your idea?'
'Well, there are these mice...'
'Pfft, passe.'
'They ride bikes...'
'Keep talking...'
'And they're from Mars'
'Sold! Ten series!'

"Let's form Voltran ! Voltran ! Voltran ! Voltran !"
Aah, in Turkey one man did not have a childhood if he does not have an idea about Voltran. What a pity for those who could not watch it. Remembering days of childhood hurts..Though Voltran and the others like He-Man, Transformers and Ninja Turtles bring up good memories ~:)
The 80's? Gah!
How about the 60's and early 70's. :hippie:
Johnny Quest
Penelope Pitstop
The Banana Splits (not a cartoon but great)
H.R.Pufnstuf (the same)
Sealab 2020
Secret Squirrel
Yogi Bear
The Fantastic Four
Spiderman
Aquaman
Superman
Dudley Dooright
Hercules
The Marvel Superhero cartoons; Captain America, Iron Man, etc
Underdog
Atom Ant
Casper the Friendly Ghost
The Jetsons
The Flintstones
Heckle and Jeckle
The Archies
Go Go Gophers (Yeah baby!)
I had to check the web to remember some of these, but I watched them all. :2thumbsup: (I'll bet Gawain saw all these as well.)
I think I'm going to break down in a fit beer drenched meloncholy. :bigcry:

ThunderCats. Basically no other cartoon gave me that feeling, it might have had to do with the music. Most certainly Mum-Ra was the most evil vilain I had ever seen on a cartoon.

I also liked the Care Bears. :sweatdrop:

So it came a little bit to late for me to really enjoy. :wall:

You can do both at the same time.:laugh4:
Transformers baby! :2thumbsup:
My family didn't have a satellite dish, so I had to watch it at my friends place. Great times.
Does anyone remember Transformers the Movie? I really liked that one.
Transformers for sure, closely followed by He-Man! :2thumbsup:

G Force, just to be difficult. Heh, I just googled it and they had some GREAT episode titles. "Attack of the Space Terrapin" anyone? "Tentacles From Space"? And what were they on when they penned "Fearful Sea Anemone" ?
But I voted for Thundercats by mistake.

I still make a point of watching it once a year.:2thumbsup:

At least I'm not the only one.:laugh4:
Only show I could really say is "Looney Tunes"; don't know if that counts as an 80's cartoon.. I watched Transformers and He Man but I must not have been too interested because I don't remember much of the plot lines. Tom and Jerry shows, on the other hand, I can watch now and instantly recall, and I watched those when I was pretty young.

I liked eighties cartoons when I was a kid. Funny, I liked some of them even more when I was 18 and up late... drinking...uhm, water. And, uh, doing other stuff, heh. I'll never forget staying up to uhm, 4 twenty-something am for some odd reason.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all this talk is starting to make me nostalgic.

Why?
Would you want to go back to eat chips and watch cartoons all day without a care in the world?
Hmmm, wait a minute,...!:inquisitive:

The Transformers movie was fantastic! The scene where Starscream used Megatron as a gun to actually kill some of the autobots on the ship flying to earth was jaw dropping for me. Death in a cartoon was a very new concept for me at the time. I remember saying to my uncle (who is only a few years older than me) "holy $#!t did you see that" and both of our eyes were about popping out of our heads. I think the Thundercats would have done well to have put a cap in a few of their badguys too but no such luck. :2thumbsup:

That movie killed a lot of my favourite characters, combined with the story and the action, that is perhaps why it is the best series to movie adaptation I have ever seen. :2thumbsup:

With a few exceptions those shows were on into the 90's. Aquaman, Fantastic Four, and sealab are about the only ones from your list I've never seen.

Does anyone remember 'Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors' ?
"Jayce searches for his father, to unite the magic root and lead his Lightning League to victory over the changing form of SawBoss. Wheeled Warriors explode into battle--Lightning Strikes!"
That series was the best!!

Does anyone remember that 80s Uk tv show 'Round the bend' (I think it was called that)
It was a puppet show featuring a crocodile and some rodents, it showed cartoons in the show...most comically 'Thunderpants'...quite risque for a kids show...especially with the villian 'Bum-Ra'! :laugh4:
