Register an account (it`s free, and your images doesn`t disappear; and you can view them any time at the site as well) at ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us/). Upload your image there, amd copy and paste the URL with [IMG] tags.

(it`s nice if you remove the link to ImageShack, but that`s not necessary)

but how do i take an image i know how to use imageshack, photo bucket. but how do i capture the image of the game when playing it . i assume its done by key example i have a battle i assume i can take a snapshot of the battle but how and do i need a programme etc to view the images and what folder are they in in the programme files of the game. the thing is i defeated a five stack army with one stack the battle field etc was strewn with bodys and white flags everywere but i did not know how to capture the image of the battle or of the map to show how many provinces i have captured.

basically i know how to upload images pics etc to imageshack and various other sites but not how to capture the images screenshots within the game.

which keys to use capture them and more importantly how to view the images or which folders they are in and how do i open them [ is a special programme etc needed ]

There are a few ways to capture screen shots.

I recommend:

1) Pause the game. Get the shot you want just right.
2) Take shot. On my PC there is a key in top right corner called 'PrintScreen'. Yours might be similar...eg 'PrtSc'
3) The shot is now on an invisible clipboard. You need to save this image.
4) Alt-Tab out of your battle back to windows.
5) Start programme 'MS Paint'. On Windows XP..its via START>All Programmes>Accessories>Paint
6) With MSPaint open you now go to edit menu and select 'Paste'. The image from your battle should now be in the Paint application.
7) You might want to use Paint to edit the picture..but often not.
8) Save the image. Use 'Save as' and choose .jpeg not the default .bmp format.
9) Done. Go get more pictures. Save in same way. One at a time and choose different image name each time.

If you save pictures as your log then you are done. Ive hundreds of pictures filed away which I occassional go back over.

If you want to share them then you need to host them on the net somewhere. You know that bit I see. That for me was the harder part...sorting out a host etc.

So now we can expect some more great battles or interesting campaign pictures ? Hope so.

Good luck

PS. Heres a screen of a screen shot being saved.

A brilliant piece of software for taking screenshots (the one I use anyway) is Howie's Quick Screen Capture (http://www.howiesfunware.com/install%20-%20Howies%20Screen%20Capture.exe). Just download, install, open up, click preferences and set which folder you would like your screenshots to be saved to and set a key you would like to save screenies and your sorted.

That's one hell of a defeat right their Severous :P

And of course, you can always try Fraps, though, the downside in it is that you need to transform the pics from bmp to jpg. What makes me wonder, why don't they make an in-game function that does all this take screenshot action?

There“s supposed to be one, just like there is in MTW. The problem is, in RTW it seems not to work. By the way, Fraps can save screens as JPG...

There is, the downside is that they are saved as .tga-files. If you change the screenshotbutton to, e.g. F12, you can take several screenshots in a row. I don`t know if this works with the print screen button.
The positive with this, is that you don`t have to open any program before taking your screenshots.

I know I have only 1 screenie taken by the game and saved in .tga since 2004, but I don't know how.

You pressed the print screen button, I assume.

So you can take multiple screenshots in a row? Where exactly are they saved? I think I have some pretty nice ones.

Well too be fair, he was badly outnumbered.

And I second the last piece of advice, fraps is a great and easy to use programm for taking screenies.

I am not sure if it works with the print screen button, but it works with any other button.

I have in fact taken 2042 screenshots. :help:

My screenshot folder is 4,48 GB big, I think I need to clean it up..
