Don't know haven't got BFME2 - though I was considering the possibility of getting it, be it when the prices dropped.
What didn't you like about it ?

Sorry, it's a bit OT, but this seemed like a good place to ask this...
I'm interested in getting BfME 1, am interested in the orc/bad guy campaign, sounds cool. Can anyone give me more details on this, opinions?
I got BFME 1 shortly after it's release, and its probably just me but I thought it was one of the worst rts games I've ever played to be honest. Why? Because I thought the campaign was too short and so repetetive, the AI was nothing to shout about but online play was pretty fun. But although I do like such games as BFME like Dawn of War, C & C, etc. I just thought BFME 1 was a job not well done but that's just my opinion.
I have yet to play BFME 2 but I would like to thing it has been improved a lot, the graphics however on BFME 1 were very nice but it's not the graphics that make a game.
I think BFME would be a million times better if they made it like RTW :2thumbsup: as I was looking forward to commanding massive armiess of orcs and stuff but your army never really contains more than a hundred units, a dissapointment in my opinion.

it just dissapointed me...even the hero making was particullay limited and the war of the rings was dissapointing...the only new race worth playing was the dwarfs becuase you could add the fortress upgrades to walls they also took away the feauture when you can put soldeirs on the wall!

You can't put soldiers on the walls anymore ?
Well that severely limits the immersion factor that was so good in the first BFME...
When you say, War of the Rings, do you mean the other LOTR game - the one released before BFME 1 ?
If so then I agree, that game was bad, really bad - imo.

Well those of us who (like me)prefered the castle/base system in BFME1 were the extreme minority, most hated it. The walls in BFME2 aren't big enough to hold units, plus the walls have such low HP that it wouldn't be practical to put units on a wall that goes down in 15 seconds with a siege engine attacking it. Plus Goblins and tainted men heroes can climb walls.

War of the ring is the TW-esque sandbox campagin where good and evil battle for supremecy in Middle earth. Conquering territory, and cities and raising armies. It's one campagin mode, there are also individual race campagins. Like the Elves campagin that includes defense of Rivendell from a Goblin offensive and the Elvish assault on Dol Goldiur.
But BFME2 is a good standard RTS game. The actual battle system is radically different than BFME1. The plot system is all but gone. You can now build where ever you want with peon units (workers or builders they are usually called). Walls are more intended to slow the enemy down not stop them.

Totally in agreement.

I haven't played any of these, but I've seen some movies. I want to play some, but I haven't had the time:sweatdrop:
I was very disapointed, you just got a load of units and dumped them on some enemy units, woot?
Anyway, only played my copy for an hour before giving up (and yes I tried out all it's features like WOTR and the standard campaign). Oh, and wtf is with this create a hero lol?
My advice - If you want something remotely resembling strategy stay away, if you want a bog standard lotr franchise game get it :(
