Almunia made good saves at first, but in the end the defense just slackened off a bit. Notice when Ronaldinho attacks there are a few defenders in the box, but both times when the goals were scored against Arsenal there was only Almunia?

BTW:
Pray, do tell us about Fenerbace's last game and the conclusion of the Turkish championship....
So that's the general way that soccer fans react when they lose :laugh4:
Christoph Daum is a prehistoric genius coaching Fenerbahce for the last 2 years without making a pinch of contribution about gameplay.
First year it was Pierre Van Hooijdonk 's incredible leadership and game that brought us the cup, second year it was Alex who was saving deadlocked matches with last minute freekicks, scoring more than the forwards.
However it was 05-06 when Fenerbahce lost its great advantage that was around 9 points ahead weeks ago. Team couldn't handle that fallback because our coach was an archaic mammoth hunter. As I said it's been 3 years and I don't have a single idea how Fenerbahce play, what tactical advantages they can implement over their rivals.
Galatasaray, our bloody rival, was sometimes not able to even pay the wages of the players. Their foreign players did not attend several trainings etc. throughout the season. However they chased the game to the end. And even though we hurt them bad with a 4-0 lately, they went for it to the bone and deserved it. It's so hard to congratulate GS for a FB fan..But..Well..Congrats..:shame:
Who are your local favorites, Louis ? I am an AJ Auxerre fan if you'd like to know ~:) Ah yes, in every country I have a favorite :balloon2:

Ah, c'est Bordeaux: www.girondins.com. (http://www.girondins.com/index2.html) Unfortunatley, for some unexplainable reason they don't cater to our vast numbers of overseas fans by having an english section.
You'll be seeing the Girondins in the Champions League next year, after having finished second in the Ligue. Second nowadays being the best one can hope for, what with Lyon claiming the title every year by early february. :wall:

England ARE the most overrated team in world football. I cheer the opposition, always.
I especially hate the ITV commentator Clive tildesly or something. Chairman of the Man Utd and England Fan Club. Everytime an England player commits a foul, it isn't a foul. Everytime an England player gets booked, its very very harsh or the ref is just incompetent.
Everygoal an England player scores it is the best ever goal any player in the world has scored.
And I especially hate how everytime England play he has to bring up England beating a weakened German side 5-1

I think England will be lucky to get out of their group, what with all the injury

[And I can't help but complain about the Champions League referee - sending off

I'm really hoping that Germany and Holland 'll meet somewhere in the tournament, and then I hope we'll utterly destroy them. Winning with penalties would be the ultimate revenge.
Though that could only happen if they survive their group, which they probably will - considering how ''lucky'' they got with their's

I know how to keep my composure in the face of adversity or insult too. But on the inside I'm boiling, fighting to not erupt like a vulcano and spill out my rage. And I know it shows...
An Englishman on the other hand will not show any outward signs whatsoever. He'll never grant you the satisfaction of knowing just how much, if at all, you just managed to annoy him.

Pfft, with Stevie up front supporting Crouch the goals won't stop flowing, you'll see :2thumbsup: . I also quite excited to see what Walcott can do in the upcoming friendlies. He may not have a huge amount of experience, but he's completely fearless and is lightening fast and could be a great player to bring on to make an impact if we need a goal after 65 or 70mins.

No way germany is beating england, just not going to happen.
Also I don't think Sweden 'll drop out against Ecuador nor do I think that Italia 'll beat Brazil and The Czechs 'll lose from the Italians.
Also I do hope that Holland will be able to beat Portugal this time around - if you're right in your prediction that is - although Portugal is always a difficult adversary.
A final between Brazil and Argentina ( That's possible isn't it ? ) would be fun to watch ~:)

Thanks Louis, I recommend watching out for Ecuador in the tournaments, following up giants like Argentina and Brazil in the preliminary stage is definitely not easy. I'd put them even higher in my prediction table if they had more World Cup experience.
If Ivory Coast had not drawn such a hard group, I guess that they would reach at least the next round..But well who knows? I expect at least a 3rd place from them..Very very quality squad out there, attention..
And the reason behind taking Italy to be the world cup winners is that they have a solid and experienced (very important) backline while Luca Toni will be a huge boost in their play upfront -he is a complete striker that has it all.
Finally my lovely Netherlands will face Argentina (according to my predictions, of course), and that's why they will fail to go any further because the new generation needs to "harden" more. They are my favorites in Euro '08 already. :balloon2: :netherlands: :balloon2:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/5035604.stm
A great addition to the English Premier League, but does this now mark a new era of Chelsea dominance for the next four years?
Personally i cant wait to see him play, what a fantastic player.
I doubt it will make chelsea any better. He's 30 in September and his best years are behind him. He's a great player but he won't play very well until January at least because the EPL is very very different from Serie A. Crespo was a damp squib tbh whereas he excelled for Milan (and scored twice in the final last year)
I also can't wait until Lucas Neil marks him :laugh4:

He's going to remain an unhappy chappy then as there is no such thing as a 'British' :unitedkingdom: football team. Uniquely the UK has four footy teams. England :england: , Scotland, :scotland: Wales :wales: and Northern Ireland. :northernireland:
We love it as it gets up Fifas noses and there is nowt they can do about it. :2thumbsup: :tomato: :bounce:
Would also love to see the return of a home nations tournament, or even a
variation that would include the Republic team. Play between the teams is just
too rare for my liking.

Anyone want me to start a best soccer/football player poll? I would like to see what you all think. I would vote for landon donavon. I dont know many bitish/european soccer players, sorry, i dont watch or pay attention to it that much, partly because it isnt on TV much in the U.S. I would need some names of good european soccer players. I know some like beckam (sorry if any are mispelled), ronaldino, and some other but not too many more.

Was tempted to post something similar, but thought it would be frowned upon.
Poor Americans, deprived of even a decent league to watch. Ha.

Too true, Shevshenkco, although good is way past his peak. And Blackburn can definately come back even stronger next season, with the UEFA Cup to look forward to!

Cruel, very cruel Louis. Anyroad as Divine Wind will tell you, it's a well known fact the best player is Robbie Savage.

I hate it when Arsenal play Blackburn or bolton though. They don;'t really try to play football, they just bruise everyones legs. Blackburn aren't as bad as they used to be, and do have some skilful players but Bolton are by far the worst.

Hoi, I'm not having that. I'll have to send 'Super' Kevin Davies 'round to kick in your kneecaps. :laugh4:
Edited for second thoughts.
Well I like it when we (BWFC) play 'Woolwich' :laugh4: Arsenal as it's a stitched on six pointer for us.

simply put,
EDIT: I'm also really looking forward to next years season, as lots of the players in the EPL will gain valuable expierience playing in the World Cup. It will definatly be an exciting season, with hopefully not another league title for Chelsea.
Can't wait 'till the next season just to see Shevchenko play. Great addition to the league.
yeh, a great addition to thew premiership :2thumbsup:

True, it will be interesting to see how he adapts too our high tempo game. The Italian and English leagues are far apart in style, but dont forget that Italy
has some fantastic defences and for a player to consistently score 20+ for all these years means he will cause our defenders all sorts of problems. The problem for Crespo this season was Chelsea's system of playing a lone striker. He needed someone alongside him to play off, and take some pressure away. The talk is, is that with Shevchenko coming, Chelsea will change the formation to play Drogba alongside him.
As much as a love Lucas, hes also a bit of a bar steward at the moment as he wont sign a new contract with us, until after the World Cup
Blackburn will be ok next season as long as we add some quality too the squad. We need a half decent striker alongside Bellamy and another creative midfielder then i think we could do well in Europe and at home!
Were just a small town in Europe :2thumbsup:
Eurocup under 21: Semi-Final: France 0 - Netherlands 2 (Nicky Hofs 6th, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar ??? - was taking a crap). One more half to go though.

Wow we're actually winning ?
Didn't think we'd stand a chance against France, as they were considered to be quite the team...
Oh well, let's hope they manage to keep it up !

JAG must have seen Hooligans :P
im for Barca :D and Ajax. still hoping for old glory to be restored
Second half France scored twice. Nicky Hofs scored the winning goal in the second half of extended period. France however was playing with ten men during the second half of extended time and couldn't put up to much of a fight anymore. Besides they had exhausted themselves quite a bit during second half regular time. Possibly hoping for penalty shootouts throughout the extended period.
NED 2 - MEX 1 by the way.

Well I'd rather have 'lardy pants' Davies than that well known dingle Savage. He certainly lives up to his name. I always have a soft spot for Blackburn fans; .................it's called Morecambe sands.....:laugh4:

Good old Chelsea buying their way to another premiership title again:wall:
The personal money bank that Jose can reach into is too much and is going to make the premiership so one sided their will be little point watching it. Yes shev and Ballack are great additions but i hope chelsea get rid of a few players they don't use, just to balance it as Roman's money is getting them titles not any merit whatsoever.
which makes NED - FRA 3-2 or am i mistaken
Yep you're right! NED - MEX stayed 2-1 by the way. Though I think you have watched the game as well or not?

Netherlands wins the EC under 21!!! 3-0 against Ukraine!!! Woohoo!!! Huntelaar scored the first two goals. The second was a penalty. One Ukrainian player made hands in the 16m area... Doh! If he didn't however, Huntelaar might have made a headie in the goal though. Hofs scored the third goal in the last minute with a nice move where he played the ball through the legs of the defender, with a bit of luck I might add, and shot it nicely in.
First time Jong Oranje (Young Orange) made the finals in the EC and even won.
Although Jong Oranje was the better team, the Ukrainian team had some very bad luck (twice side bar - headie and freekick) and overall still was very dangerous.
Milevsky or whatever his name is, really could be crowned the Schwälbekonig of this EC. Man he dropped down so much! I really couldn't stand the guy. I have to admit he is a very good player, but he should stop going to the ground so easily!
