Hi everyone, Rotorgun here with a question. Can anyone explain the differences between the 1.5 RTW patch and the 1.6 BI patch? I went to the Total War site and both readme files say the same thing. I have just completed a clean install of RTW and BI, but am hesitant to load the 1.6 patch if I don't really need it. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks a bunch.

AFAIK, the 1.5 and 1.6 patches do the same thing to the base RTW game. However, 1.6 also patches the BI campaign. As you have BI, 1.6 is the one that you want.

Thanks econ21, but what does AFAIK mean? Pardon my noobness in asking such a fool question.

AFAIK- As far as I know.

And seconded to what econ21 said.

Thanks folks. It's good to have advice from my freinds in the org. I've already downloaded the patch but haven't run it yet. I'll get around to it tomorrow. I know this might not be the best place to ask this, but what faction is good to start off with in BI? I'm torn between the Saxons and the Franks.

PS: If not a good place to bring it up, which thread do you recommend for such advice?

Appreciate it, Rotorgun

I've particularly enjoyed the Saxon campaign. Make some alliances with your fellow Germanics (they'll last long enough) and then go ripping into the WRE, take Gaul and the Iberian/Italian peninsulas and boom, game over (briefly stopping to get the needed provinces on the British Isles).

Franks - bleh, starting off they're not too attractive, I horded and took Rome first off :)
