Man, what a bunch of retards getting all PC about his comment. Are people really that sensitive over there? All I know is these folks are as sensitive as a wet nurse's nimple after being hired by a family with sextuplets.

Do these idiots realize there are people dying of hunger and desease in the world. This is the last thing in the world anyone should ever make a big deal about.

The term 'spaz' is/was used in a derogatory way To describe people with cerebal palsy in such a way is deeply offensive.
One of the reasons the Spastic Society changed it's name.
To put it in context; It's like using the 'N' word when discussing coloureds.

 You can't compare a direct insult towards an entire race with a word used to describe your actions. That's a hell of a brush you hold. Besides, I guess you've never heard of R&B.

He used the word 'spaz' to describe his appalling play. Likening himself to someone who is wheelchair bound and suffering from a degenerative physical condition.
Yes, I have heard of R&B. Have you heard of cerebal palsy?

"I putted atrociously today," Woods said after tying for third. "Once I got on the green I was a spaz. This is the most three-putts I've ever had here."
Big deal.:wall:

Being raised by both an American and an English woman, I can see how this could be so misunderstood by the US. Saying 'spaz' in America holds no where near the insult as calling someone a 'spastic' the way it's used by the British.
It's basically not even the same word being compared. Over here it can be used to even describe a kid who's had too much sugar and is causing a raucous. I'd imagine it appears to the British like it would to us if Tiger had flexed his wrist and elbow and thumped his chest to explain how he was playing.
I guess the same problem could arise teh other way around if a Brit went to America and made an illfated comment on "smoking a fag the wrong way round."
Imagein the fallout on that if the context isn't so clearcut that you will know that he is in fact mentioning a cigarette.
If I just screwed myself out of a good chunk of money I'd be spazing out also.
Today I'm a spaz trying to get ready for a uncles wedding. Their being being way to nit picky over there, maybe they themselves are spazed.

Brits and Yanks -- two peoples divided by a common language.
Fortunately, we'uns in the USA will have to switch over to Spanish is a few decades and the problem will be moot.
side note: shouldn't the 'ing form be spelled spazzing?
