I remember being in 5th or 6th grade I think and having all of his comic strip books. Oh man those were halarious. That fat lazy, lasagna eating cat was so much fun!:2thumbsup:

I hate "Garfield" as much as I hate the Crazy Frog.
And you guys know how much I hate that damned frog.
Gotta love that cat. I remember waking up at 6 am to watch the Garfield cartoon on tv before going off to school.:2thumbsup:

That was not my fault, it was Mongoose and his spamming joke which Monk took as a serious threat to the Org.

The cartoon was moderately awesome back in the day. The cartoon was good for a time but has since dried up.
Foxtrot is better, and I highly recommend Get Fuzzy.

on a related note, someone named Tailsteak decided to humanize Jon of "Garfield" by re-drawing Jim Davis' work and taking out the thought balloons that make up a majority of the humor of the comic (ie. garfield is not like normal cats in that he doesn't talk/think/have word balloons).

He's a classic, though I prefer Bob the Angry Flower (http://angryflower.com) nowadays. That's just brilliant.

Yeah, that just about sums up how "funny" I find Garfield. I had kind of assumed because of the whole cat/eating/dumb man schtick Garfield's target audience was 40 something divorcees but I guess I was wrong.
Possibly Garfield is less unfunny than Peanuts, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Edit: you know what? The Org hits gold. I checked out those redrawn cartoons and damn me if they HAVEN'T gone from being unfunny cat jokes to a searing expose of the meaningless of Jon's pathetic delusional life. And hence to modern life in general. This is Art folks, happening right here. Hats off to the guy who had the idea.

Well that's about how I think about it, though the frog was worse, admit it.
Garfield, just don't understand what's so funny about it, it's just a cat !
