Hellenistic Kataphraktoi how you get them as Arche Seleukeia?

I believe one of your generals should get the "intrigued by cathapracts" trait, after fighting pahlav cathapracts

Yeah. "Intrigued by kataphraktoi." However, I could've swore somebody said your family member has to lose to an enemy force with kataphraktoi before he gets that trait. *shrug*

My question is, what counts as "kataphraktoi?" Does that include the armoured horse archers with the sky-high charge value?

Thanks for telling. Never knew that. :book:

Basically you get them after a set date, perhaps 107 BC (IIRC an EB member stated that as yet all reforms are coupled to the Roman ones), but if one of your generals is defeated in a battle with Kataphraktoi being present on the opposing side (Phalava I assume; I don't think there are triggers for Sauromataen or Bactrian Kataphraktoi) he can get a trait ("Intrigued by Kataphraktoi") that may lead him to develop them earlier. The EB traiters have not yet revealed how this trait works.

Also, don't expect them to replace Heitaroi. Hellenistic Kataphraktoi lack both the maces and the elan of the Phalava elite and were always held second to the Heitaroi.

Oh thanks for the info.

At least this is entirely historical. I used to build up massive stacks of Kataphraktoi with Seleucids, then crush everybody. :book:

The Intrigued-trait can be obtained by Seleukid AND Baktrian generals.

The plan is that when a general has faced the Pahlavan or Armenian cataphracts and been defeated by them I think (Im not entirely sure, so do not take this as 100% true) you should be able to train them later or at once. This is currently not ingame me thinks.

As a sidenote, we also had a cataphract reform for the Yuezhi in which if they conquered certain central asian settlements they would get access to Yuezhi Cataphracts.

Hm... since the Yuezhi are getting the boot in the future versions, think a team member can post a nice little pic of the Yuezhi cataphract unit? Not everyone would have played a Yuezhi campaign, let alone meet the requirements to get the unit. Just curious what it looks like.

Yeah! Where's all the bonus features? We demand deleted scenes!

But, it'd be kinda cool to see things/features that didn't make the cut. Maybe a "Making of EB" featurette? ;)

Make a DVD(The Making of EB + deleted scenes + interviews with Khelvan, Urnamma, Aymar....), then sell it. This should really work, and provide money and donations for EB.

Really. ~:)

Really.

Maybe EB can turn into a real game, not based on RTW. They can ask CA for the source code, pay them some money, and then modify the source code, to make it fit for EB. You get then a ton of money, and many happy players. ~:)

It's a lovely idea, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I seem to recall that an EB member claimed it was already in, but perhaps I was wrong. Anyway, supposing either the Baktrains or Seleucids get the reform and defeat the other with it, can the other get the intrigued-trait as well?

If not, then it will be implemented probably. :laugh4:
