What faction would you most want in rome total war.(nothing to do with Hegemonia-City States)

Only vote for one faction.

Illyrians
The Republic of Croton
Sparta
Syracuse Empire
People of Athens
Cretens
The city of Corinth
Britsh Celts
Spanish Celts
Garlic Celts

I know what your thinking, What units there are. Well there is none, i want to see what faction takes your intrest.

Garlic Celts?

i would have the Sparta as they seem to have the best chance to be a independent faction.

Plus They are the best military soldiers!

I know I should only vote for one, but I think it would be cool if you had Athens and Sparta. Then you could re-enact the war between the two.

The try RTR and you can already play the Athenian, Corinthian or Spartan states. All have their different elite hoplites too. :2thumbsup:

Or at least you could in the earlier version I used to play.

The garlic celts crack me up.

Did Syracuse actually have an empire? It just had different amounts of influence over Sicily at different times I think, but an empire?

Anyway I'd probably want Athens because it had something vaguely resembling an empire at some point. It also probably has the most potential for survival, as Athens is developed: a lot. It also should start with a fleet and reasonable army, so Athens.

btw, I think the Athenian Republic would be better sounding.

For the Brits here, done in the voice of Peter Kay:

"Garlic Celts!? Garlic Celts? Garlic................. celts?"

Brilliant.

None of the other factions I really care for, but Illyria might have been interesting enough to warrant being a separate faction. The Greeks are already well covered in the game with their hoplites.

Yeah the Illyrians would be interesting. It looks as though they might have been originally planned for RTW judging from the broken bits and pieces scattered throughout the text files. But yet again, for one reason or another, they were omitted from the final retail version. The only real insight we had to the Illyrians was a few Illyrian skirmisher mercenaries...

Anyway, that's enough drivel ~D Perhaps you might want to consider some of the tribes based in and around the Italian peninsular, the more commonly known ones out of these include the Etruscans and the Samnites. I may even consider this myself eventually, time may be short for the arrogant Brutii and the perfumed Scipii ~D

[EDIT:]Btw kburkert, you may want to take advantage of the poll features associated with new topic creation, so that the results can be displayed graphically

Kburkert, this is a forum, and you have not created a poll here so your point is invalid as well as rude.
Thank you.

The cretans shouldn't be a faction, as they were divided at the time, with some parts of Crete allying themselves with the Lakedaimonians and some with the Makedonians.

Sparta

Either Sparta or the people of Athens, either would work for me.

Tiberius are you American? Just like to know.

Also if I must vote, which I apparently must, I'd say the Minoans rather than the Cretans. Purely because the Cretans were Minoic and un-Hellenic.
Mind you, maybe we don't know enough about the Minoans as we don't about the Phoenicians to create a faction based on them.
