I'd love to have this as my birthdate.
The approach of the sixth day of the sixth month of a new century’s sixth year has prompted animated discussion among women participating in the website of Mother & Baby, a British parenting magazine.
One pregnant woman, Francesca Renouf, said she had been so worried that she had booked a doctor’s appointment to ensure that she would avoid giving birth on the sixth.
Others appeared to take the dangers less seriously. One woman, Emma Parker, wrote that she intends to call her baby Damien, after the satanic boy in The Omen. Another, Donna Magnante, said she would name her baby after Regan in The Exorcist.

I just love this bit:
On one popular evangelical website last week, a “rapture index” that calculates the likelihood of the Lord’s arrival stood at 156 — which the website declared was time to “fasten your seatbelts”. By contrast, another website claimed that the Antichrist had already arrived — he is supposedly George (six letters) Walker (six letters) Bush Jr (six letters), the president whose name adds up to 666. “The violence and destruction that began when Bush first entered office is now certain to culminate in the apocalypse, as predicted in the Bible over 2,000 years ago,” warned Stephen Hanchett at isbushantichrist.blogspot.com.

Now mind you if Ronnie came back from the dead I might retract my sarcasm:oops:

others believe that the world is coming closer to what is widely known as “the rapture” — the moment the Lord calls the Christian faithful home and millions of born-again evangelicals will suddenly disappear from the Earth, leaving non-believers behind. Oh please, oh please...
Some peace and quiet at last. ~
This is rather strange.... oh well!
It's just a day, I guess some people might be frightened... :coffeenews:

Some days ago, a TV report said there has probably been a translation error and the number should be 616. I just want all those "666 is so cool, I m´such a bad kid if I call myself that" - kiddies to know.:juggle2:

husar is right, your safe lord godfrey!
revelation is thought to actually represent the fall of the roman ''world'' with nero being the beast (and the number 616 being code for his name) , revelation does after all talk about millions of horsemen decending on europe and killing loads of people which is very similar to what happened but noones realy sure
i think its funnyer to let people write 666 everywhere if they so wish and laugh at their ignorance! :laugh4: :laugh4:

Nonsense. 666 is the Number of the Beast, it plainly says so, repeatedly, in the track of that name by Iron Maiden, which should be good enough authority for anyone.
It would just be STUPID for the crowd to be shouting out "Six! One! Six! The number of the beast.." as they play their encore....

Anyway, 666 is still not as impressive as the simple 13 in scaring little kids. I think there are a lot of hotels in Asia that don't have the 13th floor even when they have 14th and above! Beat that! :laugh4:

Saturday night... the moon was blood-red!! The signs people, the signs!!
For a non-believer the moon might have been slightly dark orange from natural causes like pollution, or maybe from the forest-fires raging.

well, maybe the apocalypse even according to the bible was meant to refer to our own destruction of ourselves rather than any special being descending on earth and destroying it. So technically the pollution could very well be the apocalypse...
The end is nigh! :skull:

I have a major problem with this rapture thing. I always give people with those "In case of rapture, this car will be unmanned" bumper stickers a wide berth. Okay, so your soul gets sucked out of your body, but what happens to your car? It could smash through a day-care center. What if you're an airline pilot? You go off to meet your maker while the rest of us smash into a metroplex at 400 MPH. The whole thing is selfish and irresponsible; these people should be required to stay at home, where they pose the least hazard to the rest of us. At a minimum, they should not be permitted to drive. To add insult to injury, acts of god are not covered by most insurance plans, so we wouldn't even be compensated for the havoc that their rapture wreaks.

I always assumed that the Anti-Christ was someone charismatic, someone smart, who could convince people of anything... Guess not.
The bible says he's supposed to be a great deceiver, but good at it. I doubt George Bush is him. Anyway, he's supposed to wear a blue turben. Whether that's a metaphor or not, I'm not sure.

Bush has been known to wear hats, baseball cap kind of things. That could be what it meant. Has he ever worn the muslim scarf-like things on his head when he meets with the Saudis that are quite close to the Bush family?
EDIT: also, the antichrist is said to come from the Isle of Tin. This means Britain.
NB: I don't believe in this, but it'd be pretty hilarious to prove Bush is the antichrist

Judging by their fulminations, many people here have long believed that Tony Blair is the A-C.
In that case, John Prescott is surely the 'Seven-Bellied Beast'.

I wonder if the Anti-Christ knows he's the Anti-Christ? It wouldn't be too pleasant to wake up one day and realise "bugger, I'm the Instigator of the Apocalypse".
If you don't know you're him, it could even be one of us! I'm hoping for Navaros just for the irony.
Oh, I'm gonna have to say, he will definently know. That's so he knows when to start a seven year peace treaty with Israel right after the rapture. :book:

Does anyone know which parts of revelations etc. mention antichrist, return of christ and similar relevant info to the subject? Just interested to see what it actually says about blue turban etc.
Also, this blue turban thing is probably what inspired Harry Potter book one, or?
Here's a brief synopsis of the antichrist in the New Testament. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antichrist#The_New_Testament) Main point of the article:
The words "Antichrist" and "Antichrists" appear only five times in the Bible - in two of the Apostle John's three letters in the New Testament, 1 John and 2 John:
Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. (1John 2:22, ESV)
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. (1John 2:18, ESV)
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. (1John 4:3, ESV)
Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist (2John 1:7, ESV.)

Interesting, thanks. That was part of what I was looking for. But I was also wondering about that part where there's a prophecy about antichrist appearing in human form and causing the apocalypse, followed by Christ coming back to earth to resuce his followers. Is that in revelations?
Oh for Pete's sake, the Revelation of John isn't that long -- just read the thing!
[edit]
Or at least thumb through the Cliff's Notes ... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Revelation)
He isn't really spoke of as the Antichrist as much as the Great Deceiver, in the bible. Maybe that will help your research.
