View Full Version : Temple of Epona Question
I've been trying to figure this and maybe someone can shed some light on this since I don't seem to be able to.
Why should Rome (or anyone for that matter) be allowed to create the awsome/pantheon version of a temple if they can't build the smaller versions? The temple of Epona seems to be (by my examination of the export_desc_building.txt file) the only temple that some other faction can build a higher level temple while not being able to build the lower level ones.
The Romans are able to take over a town that already has a size (3 or 4 can't remember which) temple and add Epona to their pantheon and build the larger temples.

Is that a barbarian temple? If it is, it's probably a mistake...

Surprisingly, it isn't a mistake. CA even released a special text file after the 1.5 patch had messed up availability of the Roman temples of Epona. Aparently, Epona was on of the Gods adopted by the Roman army (the cavalry in this case), so Romans can adopt her provided a level 3 temple (Sacred Circle) of Epona is present.
2 years on and there are still threads on this popping up.

First time I`ve seen it for the year that I have been registered. :juggle2:

Not all of us have been here for two years. Anyway, Epona wasn't a special case. The Romans practically adopted ALL gods when pagan, apart from the Christian/Judean/Islamic one, because according to those religions their god was the only one. So why only Epona?
She was the only one that a: didn't already have a counterpart in the Roman pantheon and b: appealed to a wide enough, powerful enough, and rich enough class of Roman society (equestrians) to be officially adopted.
