.I am referring to the enemy generals during a siege and their siege towers that shoot bolts at my troops on the walls. Not fair, i want some!

any idea how i get these? I have the max siege building in nearby towns and also have high ranking commanders.

They're siege towers, specialised siege equipment. The only things you can construct in cities with which you can assault walls are onagers or ballista's. I don't know about scorpions, probably those too.

If you don't have any siege weapons when you're besieging a city with walls, you will have to construct either rams, ladders, towers or sap tunnels. You're referring to the towers. The ones you're talking about, with the awesome cannons on them, you automatically make when ordering siege towers while besieging a city with Large Stone or Epic Stone Walls. Just rightclick on the enemy city with an army and you get a choice of the four siege weapons( rams, ladders, towers and sap points ).

You have those toys too, you just haven't turned them on. You have to enable "Fire at Will" for the siege tower pushers, and then they'll fire away. They're most impressive on large and epic stone walls, and fairly ineffectual for regular stone walls.

Quite simply because they can't fire bolts on regular stone walls.

I think that they fire arrows at normal stone walls, but you are lucky if the siege tower kills one enemy soldier.

Wel, what do you expect? It looks cool, and soldiers can climb it, though I think the bolts are only supposed to crush enemy morale.

The bolts do more than that.

Yep. I usually am relieved when the siege towers get to my walls, because that means that they will stop firing those cursed unit destroying bolts. I always know I'll lose less men fighting hand-to-hand than I willl with those storms of bolts raining on my troops!

Better still if the towers are set on fire. The desc_wall.txt file does make the fire ballista very infrequent, so that is rare.
