View Full Version : JFK Assassination
We are studying the JFK assassination in school and all of the conspiracey theories. What does everyone think of the assassination?
I think we'll never know for sure. I'm of the opinion that Oswald had help of some kind, though not necessarily that he had help in the actual assassination itself. But we really will never know. Too much time has gone by to solve it to the satisfaction of conspiracy mongers.
As to the conspiracy claims themselves... there is one constant in all conspiracy arguments, not just those surrounding the Kennedy assassination. They are easy to postulate and usually intentionally impossible to disprove. Conspiracy mavens rely on evidence which is then claimed to have been destroyed, or hidden, or controlled by the conspirators. "The government knows such and such but is hiding the evidence" gives the designer of the conspiracy argument latitude to make up just about anything and claim that the evidence is being withheld. This is the common feature of Area 51 conspiracies and most others. They can't be disproven by fact; because the fans of the conspiracy claim that other "facts" exist which contradict the evidence. By nature, such arguments also ignore Occam's Razor. So I refuse to call them theories. They lack even the most basic scientific methodology.

An interesting theory was discussed in the backroom a few weeks ago.
